Simon & Schuster Mega Crossword Puzzle Book #3 (3)

I have been using these crossword puzzles for three years as an aid to getting to sleep. For older persons such as myself, the print and squares are large enough to be comfortably read and printed in, the puzzles themselves are more verbal than factual except for celebrity names (that is, no ancient measurements as a rule). For example, the answer to "FInal stroke, usually" is "putt." Challenging enough to be interesting but not frustrating. No trickery as some syndicated puzzles do with answers outside the grid (clue: "thinkihg outside the box) or three letters in a (tiny) square.

We started with Book # 1 in 2020, at the outset of the Covid pandemic. We're now about to start Book # 3. Hubby and I work on them together over lunch and dinner. They are addicting, so much fun, and are a source of good conversation. Highly recommend.

Overall, I like these puzzle books very much and have worked on many of them over the years. I've done books 1-21, and am now starting all over again from #1 - it's been a few years since I finished book #1, so I don't remember the answers! They get longer and more difficult as the puzzle numbers increase. The perforated pages make it easy to remove and place on a clipboard. This particular book - #3 - had more than a few editing errors in the clues/answers, and also had the answers for puzzle 144 repeated and no answers for puzzle 142. Hopefully, the publisher will correct the problems in the next printing!

I have completed many editions of this puzzle book ever since my grandson gave me my first one for Christmas several years ago. They provide just the right level of challenge for a long time puzzler. I stopped doing the daily crossword in our local newspaper as I much prefer these books. I especially like that the pages are perforated so Can easily be detached when both sides are completed.

Have been Buying these Crossword Books for a few Years and Very Pleased with the Variety of Themes and the Challenges they Impose!! There are 300 Puzzles in each Book which have lasted me for over a month for each Book. Would Highly Recommend them to Crossword Lovers!!

My guy says he likes these - not too easy, not too repetitive, not so difficult you never finish. We buy a lot of them and the numbering of the books helps to be sure you don't get a repeat.

Not too easy, not too hard. I really like that the pages tear out and I can put onto clipboard to lay flat for working.

Family has been doing crosswords forever, and these books are great.

These crosswords are challenging without being overwhelming, the print is a good size, paper quality is excellent, the price is reasonable and they can tear out if you need to. Of all the crosswords I've bought, (and I've bought many over the years), this whole series are my crosswords of choice. :-)

The Simon & Schuster crossword book has 300 puzzles. The pages are perforated for ease of usage. Answers are at the back of the book. The challenge won’t disappointment if you like crosswords.

Great mix of puzzles. Love that they are not really easy.
