Pretty, easy to work with yarn
I really liked this yarn. I'm new to sock knitting and I found it really easy to work with. The pattern was consistent between balls and the colors were bright and pretty. They also wash really well without shrinking or fraying at all.

Very nice!
Nice yarn. No splitting. Knots up quite nicely. Easy to work with. I used a 2.25 mm needle but next time I will use a 2.50.

Elusive color
I purchased this on Amazon because I really wanted this specific color. I am new to knitting and I was attempting to make bbay leggings. These colors in this self-striping yarn I felt were a fun way to jump into Spring for a little girl. I made my daughter some cute leggings as a begginner knitter with this yarn.

Confusing needle size recommendations
I ordered two skeins and on one 2.75 mm needles (US 2) and on the other 3.25 mm needles (US 3) were recommended. I knit loosely and used the larger ones. The yarn is typical sock yarn. I really like the colors. There’s a pattern of light/medium/dark gray stripes, a gray/dark-purple stripes, and a gray/blue-green stripes. It’s gender neutral. 50 grams are sufficient for ONE medium size sock.I haven’t washed or dried the finished sock, yet.

Patons Kroy--My fave!
Over the years, I've tried a number of sock yarns. This one is my favorite. It has a pleasant "hand", tends not to be "split-y", is colorfast, and hard-wearing. If washed as directed, it will not felt, but even if washed in warm water, in the wash machine with other stuff, and dried in the dryer, it still doesn't seem to felt or pill (although I wouldn't recommend it). I never need to swatch with Kroy (after the first pair of socks), so I can just pick up the needles and start knitting (I use my own pattern) because the quality is so uniform. The two criticisms I have are (a) they have no fashion colors in solids--just the same basic colors, a couple of greys, black, cream, a deep navy and a beige, and (b) they are so heavy into self-patterns and self-stripes. These are just minor criticisms, though. It's still my #1 go-to for sock knitting!

need two balls for a pair of socks. colors beautiful
i made socks with this yarn. the socks turned out beautiful. easy to work with. but although it does not say so on the amazon description, for adult socks you need two balls. i bought the second ball later and it matched well. colors are nice and bright and yarn very smooth on the feet although since i have diabetic feet i always use a smooth inner sock with them. most people would not need this. will order this brand of yarn again. i am always pleased with Patons products.

Good sock yarn
I like the feel of it. I made a nice warm pair of socks for hubby. Yarn held together well, no splitting. What I didn't like was the fact that I had to waste a lot of yarn to try to get the stripes somewhat the same on both socks and then found the color changes weren't the same either. So, if you get stripes be aware that you may not have a perfectly matching pair. Otherwise I would have given a 5 star.

Inconsistent
I've used Patons Kroy for dozens of pairs of socks with no problems, but this last skein is a real lemon. I've used less than 1/4 of the skein and already had 3 knotted joins and a bad spot. Hoping it's not a trend. I didn't have time to reorder, or would have sent it back!

Pas ma préférée, mais pour le prix c'est bien! (not my favorite, bot ok for the price)
That was the first time i would buy my wool without touching it (because of the pandemic). That's not my favorite, it's not the most stretchable. It splits easily if you're not carefully watching what you're knitting. Though the color is great, an it does a sock that doesn't slip on your feet. I was scared all the way through the knitting that i wouldn't have enough wool, but finally you have enough

Excellent Yarn !
I put Paton's Kroy sock yarn now on the level of Opal and Regia yarns, (although Regia makes it easier to make 2 identical socks by their Easy Start yellow strip) but as I knit from the toe down this is not as crucial for me to make identical socks.. With Paton's Kroy you have to buy 2 balls of 166 yds. to make a pair of socks, and for the sizes I want to knit, there is plenty of yarn in each ball for each sock and to find the right starting point. Paton's Kroy sock yarn is lovely to work with and I I love the color selections.

Super yarn, waaaaaaay too expensive!
Love this yarn but it’s way overpriced! Found it less than half the price at the local arts and craft store!

Lovely sock yarn!
Lovely yarn and not something we can get over here in England so I was very happy to find it!! Excellent service too from the seller in the USA.

Four Stars
mes 2 balles de laine avaient 2 noeuds dans les balles. Alors le dessin ne se suit pas, vraiment décu car elle est quand même dispendieuse et je ne peux faire 2 bas pareils. vraiment déçu
