Got one of these originally for shop use, and ended up using it much more than expected, so I bought a few more. They are put to good use in the kitchen, shop, garage and camper, and I have found it to be the best lighter for the occasional cigar at home. One refill from the larger 8oz butane canister is convenient, cost effective, and lasts a long time. Many reviewers cite leakage, problems with the igniter, and sputtering fuel flow, but I experienced NONE of these issues. May be a problem with quality control at the manufacturer, but if you get one that works, you can't beat the value.

I've used a bunch of different torches over the years. I have used them for many different reasons from melting cheese on burgers, and charring veggies to blowing air bubbles out of epoxy projects and charring wood to give it that old battered look.I will say that this one has become one of my favorites. Its flexibility in terms of how large and hot the flame is outstanding. You can do things requiring a delicate light flame, or crank it up for some serious charring. Plus I love the fact that this is a true 'one-handed' torch. Holding the trigger down keeps the flame going, and releasing it shuts it off (as opposed to having to turn a dial to shut the flame down). The design is sleek and ergonomic, making it comfortable to hold and operate. The torch is also incredibly easy to use, even for beginners. The ignition is quick and reliable, and the adjustable flame control allows for precise heat application, giving me complete control.When it comes to performance, this kitchen torch truly shines. Initially, I was disappointed because it did not ALWAYS light the first few times tried to use it. I was about to toss it out one day out of my annoyance, then out of the blue it lite immediately like it was suppose to and has worked perfectly to light my fireplace, pit, and my cigars. ALL lit-up every time with NO problems. I'm thinking there might have been some AIR inside the small butane tank, so only IF it does not light the first couple of tries, be patient & add a little more butane, it likely WILL light just fine in the future.Now, I love it...works great every time & the blue color looks cool too!

I was hosting a party for a group was making a beef prime rib. Since it was crazy cold out and I didn’t have a pan to sear it I decided to give this a whirl to try and sear it.First off it was packaged really well. I screwed the fuel can in, activated the fuel and hit the ignite button. You can see from the pic it emits a really quality flame. You can adjust how intense the flame is with the thumb dial but what’s nice is that, from a safety perspective you can’t turn it on without activating the fuel and pressing the ignite button.It’s plastic so doesn’t weigh a lot but overall it’s a good value. I used a 1# camp stove fuel cylinder but you can use others or refillable ones too I guess. In the end it worked perfectly to sear my beef roast and was perfect for my needs.
