If you are serious about retail this is a must-read.
Doug Stephens follows up his seminal work, The Retail Revival, with a brilliantly researched and well-articulated view on the vastly changing retail landscape. Rather than hypothesize about what retail might look like in five or ten years, Stephens draws on current examples to inform his perspective. He points to the ever-growing nature of AI to redefine the retail experience and lays out a case as to how retail is being influenced by forces not traditionally of the sector. For instance, he shows how Amazon's obsession with new technology and innovation is and will continue to influence bricks and mortar developments by both putting many retailers out of business, even as it drives others to greater levels of innovation and relevance. If you are serious about retail this is a must-read. Peter Smith, Author, Hiring Squirrels and Sell Something

Awesome
I'm a 53-year-old entrepreneur with 26 years of experience with technology and services for retail in Brazil. I have traveled to participate at many international retail fairs like the NRF and others, and, for me, this is the most exciting book I have ever read about retail and customer behavior and experience. All chapters of this book are a fantastic trip into the basics of human behavior and explain in detail why we see so many rich and intelligent retailers' failure in changing their perception of this pós-digital era. It's a handbook to all professionals of retail and those who intend to develop anything to innovate the customer experience or the retail store design. I recommend this book also to students and teachers that are studying supply chain management and retail management. Better than read my compliments is to start reading this book now!

Whether you own brick and mortar stores or an ecommerce site, Re Engineering Retail offers valuable insight, deeper understanding of customer behavior and motivation, and digital trends. Well worth the time.

Doug does a great job laying out today's retailer problems and very thoughtful future scenarios.
As a person who has spent well over thirty years in retail technology I have seen and experienced all of what Doug lays out in this book. I do agree that the time has come for a changing of the guard in retail. It is a wonderful time if you can reflect and be an active participant and not a deer in the headlights.

The long distance view of the future of retail
Again, like his first book, Stephens gives a detailed and convincing view on the developments and changes in the retail. As also excellent wide-lens picture of the future retail. The book is not for the goods sold or the selling - everything is about customer experience!

MUST READ!!
A must read for anyone that is involved or planning on being involved with the retail industry! I am an undergraduate student currently writing my thesis about the future of the retail industry and this gave me amazing insight into what is happening in the retail landscape. I read this in one day after receiving it, it was brilliantly written and kept me interested throughout and left me very inspired. Definitely the best book about retail I have read and trust me, I have read loads while writing my thesis. Highly recommend!

Gripping. Reading one sit in (on a long flight)
With all the doom and gloom about the British high street and familiar names going bust this book a) explains why this is happening and b) paints a really exciting future.I don’t work in retail but I found this a fascinating read and can’t wait until the shoots of the vision in this book become widespread. And don’t worry...it’s not all moving online.

Lots of good ideas
Stretches your thinking in terms of the possible. At times a bit conceptual rather than practical
