This SmallRig NATO Top Handle is one of the best additions to my rig. The grip feels excellent in hand—secure, comfortable, and perfect for handheld shots. It’s super easy to rig thanks to the quick-release NATO system, and the multiple cold shoe mounts make it incredibly versatile for adding mics, monitors, or lights. Functionality-wise, it checks every box. It’s lightweight but sturdy, and the design makes it fast to adapt or reconfigure on the go. For the price, the value is outstanding. Another solid piece of gear from SmallRig that I’d definitely recommend to any filmmaker building a reliable rig.

Comfortable in the hand, really light, just make sure you have the NATO system.

This is definitely a lite handle. I use it for my m50 handheld setup. The fact that this has so many mounting options for its size is great. Even though it’s small you have plenty of room for bigger hands. I’m able to run mic, monitor and lights without any loosening. Definitely a great build and tool to add to your camera bag. Smallrig always seems to come through with true quality every time.

Requires a small (not tall) base piece, which is not included, to attach to the SmallRig or other nato cage. Pretty nice size and grip, rock solid and lots of nato points including one for video. When not using a video screen, I point it over the lenses for better weight balance. The quick release takes a little figuring out to swing inside and lift so it can connect or release but loosens up with use (and locks by swinging outward). Loses a star for not including the connection point, that’s just a money grab.

This is the best ergonomic top handle that I have ever used, love the soft rubber and the individual finger grooves makes it even more comfortable in the hand. it has more than enough mounting points and the price was just right.

I replaced my original Smallrig top handle (the basic one with all the rows of mounting holes) with this one, and the difference is huge. The nato attachment makes mounting this to my BMPCC4k’s cage way easier than messing with 1/4 20 screws, and the grip is way more comfortable and feels much more secure— I regularly shoot with the handle in reverse grip for better balance, and he handle works JUST as well that way as the regular orientation, thanks to the cold shoe mount on the ‘rear’ (now front for me).
