This is a wonderful shelving unit. I bought the wide one in teak finish. It came expertly packed with each piece wrapped and protected. I am so impressed with the directions for assembly. Very clear, well illustrated and with simple steps. Everything fit precisely and snugly. It’s a heavy unit so I assembled it on a low table and then set it upright with help. (I’m a 62 year old woman.) The backing sections are light weight and I considered not installing them, but it looked unfinished. Once they were on, they looked terrific. The rest of the unit is solid wood with each piece made from joined pieces. It looks spectacular!! My one and only complaint is in trying to remove the warning label from the interior of the right side piece, I scratched the wood! (It should be made with the glue that is easily peeled off.) Two enthusiastic thumbs up for this very substantial addition to my real teak furniture!

Finished product is almost nice. The shelves, drawers and frame are good solid wood and very sturdy. The disappointing part is the back panels. These are made from poorly stained balsa type wood. The back panels are a different shade than the rest of the unit and mine came slightly warped. This would be great with better back panels.One note about assembly, it takes a couple of hours. You put together each and every piece including assembling the drawers. The instructions are very clear and it is a nice touch that they add additional hardware (just in case). It is not that difficult but does take some time.

I bought this to put in my office and am very pleased with it. The only con that I have was a 4 inch sticker that was placed on the inside of the bookcase warning that the wood was treated. It was almost impossible to remove and I spent at least half an hour with a razor blade, very carefully peeling it off. I still give it 5 stars, but I think the back of the bookcase would be a better place for the sticker.

Hard to be happy when every time I've ordered something from this manufacturer there been something wrong which has ended in my needing to wait for parts (that never arrived), or live with the part that needs replacing. In this case it's the drawer front. Don't get me wrong, these are beautiful and I wish they'd not discontinued this style, because for the piece you do get solid wood, not pressboard...bit there's been some damage or missing or wrong part in every order. I own 5 pieces from this company. They're all beautiful, but have to understand you're not going to get replacement parts...hopefully they improve their Q/A on these.

We got this to match the sideboard/bar by the same brand. Both are solid, gorgeous pieces! Sturdy, heavy piece, but still looks light and modern to me. (Well, mid-century modern ;-))The pieces were well packed, just really heavy and the box was a bit beat up - there was a very small chip on the back of one of the pieces, but once assembled you can't see it. Many steps, and you will need plenty of room, but assembly instructions are easy to follow and extra hardware included.Shelves are taller than anticipated and actually hold more than we thought so that was a pleasant surprise. (We have a tall room so we also use the top as shown in pic).I love it!

This bookcase is the exact finish (I ordered the Walnut finish), style and dimensions I was looking for. I couldn’t find anything at the furniture stores. Home Depot carries this same bookcase but it was slightly more expensive. It took about 1 hr to put together. Getting the stickers off of the wood was very difficult! (Several small stickers came off fairly easily, but the large sticker was the worst!-and right inside the top shelf!) I used a blow dryer to heat the sticker, but still had to use a plastic pot scraper to get it off. I didn’t scratch the wood, but there’s a slight glue residue remaining. A little warm water and Dawn dishwashing liquid helped some. Otherwise, I do love it. It is heavy duty, solid wood and very sturdy. It’s a little bit pricey though.

We are very happy with our bookcase, however; the back piece on the top didn’t line up correctly, so we had to cut it to fit and there were a few other pieces that didn’t line up correctly. My husband was able to make some tweaks and adjustments to make it work, however; for this price point we should have returned it and reordered a new one as this one may have just been flawed! Who wants the hassle of returning it when it’s already almost put together? We decided to keep this one and we decided that it must have been cut out at the factory on a Monday! Don’t hesitate to order as it really is a good quality and good looking piece of furniture!

I bought this bookcase and two of the single bookcases to line one wall of my mid-century modern style living room, and the finished look of these pieces is beautiful and very high quality. I have purchased several pieces from the "Draper collection", and every piece is as beautiful and high quality as the others. The beauty and elegant simplicity is obvious, as is the quality of each piece. I can recommend this collection to anyone looking for that perfect mid-century modern style and high quality wood furniture!
