A sick, techy controller for silky smooth gameplay.
It does everything I'd hoped it would. I had the Razer Onza TE before this, so I knew it would be comfortable and I liked the ergonomics of it. Some people have problems with the design of the controller as it has a ridge on the underside that is supposed to cradle the middle fingers. Some feel it digs into their fingers. For me it's fine. I have large hands and it fits right into my hands nicely, at least with the way I grip it, but everyone is different. the rocker MFBs on the underside are just about perfectly placed for me. The d-pad is vastly better than the one in the original MS controller. The shoulder MFBs are also well placed for my hands. Rubberized surface is also nice. I won't go into too many details as there are a ton of reviews out there.I will say however, why I replaced my beloved Onza, and it wasn't just because of the extra multifunction buttons. I love Razer and every product I've gotten from them so far. A mouse, two controllers, a headset, and a keyboard peripheral. The Onza TE was a great controller too. It wasn't without it's flaws though. If the Sabertooth has any, they have yet to surface in my month or so of owning the controller. My Onza served me well, but after some time, the analog sticks started acting a bit funny. After the rubbery coating started falling off, they continued working fine for a good long while. Then, the sticks started to get hard to 'click' when I pushed them into the controller, to sprint in Call Of Duty for example. So I remapped sprint to one of the MFBs, and forgot about it, then the other stick started doing it too, which irked me a bit more because I like to play tactical, and have the right stick button set to couch, while I had the right MFB mapped to the B button so I didn't have to take my thumb off the stick to use my knife in game.Over time this worsened, requiring an extreme amount of pressure to actuate the button functions of both sticks. I believe this was somehow resultant of the adjustable tension on the sticks, which was an awesome feature that worked great, and was the whole reason for me purchasing the Onza TE to begin with. Every other function of my Onza TE works just fine still. I tend to think that if I hadn't been playing with the tension on the sticks all the way up, this issue may not have surfaced, but I was playing on very high sensitivities at the time, so whatever. Those were issues with the Onza. I'm using the Sabertooth now and loving it, no issues so far or signs of wear whatsoever. I was delighted that I could play with my Kontrol Freeks on it as well.I hear a lot of people in online reviews saying Razer makes crappy products, but that hasn't been my experience. Aside from the issues with the Onza TE, which are most likely design flaws do to Razer being new to console controllers, or just an idea that wasn't executed as well as it maybe could have been, every other Razer product I have owned has worked perfectly and given me no problems whatsoever.I wouldn't think twice about purchasing another Razer controller over an MS controller again if this one holds up, which so far it seems like it will. The improved d-pad is almost worth the price of entry by itself, then you get the configurable sensitivity in the sticks, and the six MFBs, which are an awesome thing to have if you really wanna smooth out your gameplay. It might not make you a better player. Just a smoother one, as I said. There are tons of amazing gamers who do just fine with the stock MS controller. Personally, I just prefer the feel of this controller.

Not the end all be all.
Just got this controller in the office, decided to give it a shot. Here are my initial impressions of the Razer Sabertooth.Good:*The cable is braided, so its very strong, the link that screws the cable to the top of the controller feels very sturdy, very solid.*The dpad and the face buttons all feel very solid and click when you push them.*The plastic its made of feels slightly rubbery, this is a good thing because when you first pick the controller up you can tell its not going to easily slip out of your hand.*The packaging is top notch.Bad:*The rocker buttons on the back look flimsy and cheap.*The force feedback vibrating mechanism inside the controller is LOUD. It literally rattles the controller. If youre playing a game that has a lot of vibrating coming through the controller be prepared to have the constant buzzing competing with the sound of your tv or whatever else youre listening to your game on, yes, its THAT loud.*The rocker switches on the back can be removed, and razer ships small rubber plugs that can be put in to the cavities left by the removed switches but the plugs are rubber and overall fairly cheap in construction. A better solution would have been to give people hard plastic plugs with screws that could be securely mounted in the gap. The current solution just seems like its going to eventually fail and fall out.Overall the controller is nice enough, not sure if its 70 dollar nice as its obvious they cut several corners with the construction of this device. The only real shame in my opinion is that there is really no alternative for a solid 3rd party controller and it seems that Razer knows this. I suppose this is why they feel they can get away with cutting corners here and there and people will continue to buy their products.*Edit*Changing this down to one star. The vibrating mechanism has burned itself out or something, its barely vibrating now. 70 dollars for a product that works as advertised for a week. Nice.*edit 2*The rumble came back on its own, after sputtering out and dying, now im having another issue. The shoulder buttons when pressed "click". Which is fine but I am playing a game where the left shoulder button is used for sprint, and double tapping the left shoulder button does an evasive roll. Well apparently if you press the button down and keep it pressed down, slight fluctuations in the pressure you are applying to the already depressed button reads as a seperate button press. So there I am sprinting along in game and bam, 2, 3, 4, 5 evasive rolls in a row and I never took my finger off the button once.DO NOT buy this controller. Its trash. Im using a wired 360 controller from a launch console thats so old the thumb buttons have been worn down to ovals and it easily trumps this product. Also, their control software "synapse 2.0" does not recognize this controller no matter where I plug it in.If you need a gamepad for PC and need to configure buttons to keyboard presses, buy joy2key or any of the other cheap gamepad mapping software out there and just go with a standard Microsoft 360 controller. Youll save about 30 bucks and a ton of headache.

Decent controller
Cons:-When the controller is plugged in Xbox 360 the xbox thinks that I have a mic in the controller when I don't so I can't use my wireless mic to talk while the razor controller is plugged into the xbox.-Sound quality when wired mic is attached to the controller is horrible compared to official xbox 360 controllers.-Guide button could of been better looking. The guide button came in the mail looking a little slanted to the left when I got it and it still is.-Although the D pad is way better than the the official xbox 360 controller, I feel like it requires a little to much pressure to press down on which makes it kind of uncomfortable for fighting games at times.pros:-Feels nice to hold in your hand-I like how the abyx buttons feel like mouse clicks, good for fighters.-Programmable buttons are a plus-Nice detachable braided cable-Came with some nice thumb grips for the controller, fits on other non razor controllers too.So far I haven't had any dead zone issues like the others were having or the slow movement.Edit April 2, 2014: (Purchased on February 19, 2014)Now I am having issues with the right trigger. It doesn't function probably anymore. Shooting automatics rifles and games doesn't work probably for me anymore. It would and randomly shop shooting in while I am holding down on the trigger with a half of a clip left and shoots again randomly. It really sucks. I programmed one of the additional buttons to replace the right trigger but it feels awkward to shoot with any of them.My $20 gamestop controller lasted longer than this with no issues.
