Powell-Peralta Tail Bone White, 8"

I bought this Powell Peralta Tail Bone for a cruiser skateboard I have setup. As with all things from Powell Peralta, this product is quality. I’ve been purchasing skateboards and skateboard supplies from Powell Peralta since the mid 1980’s and I’ve never been disappointed. Thank you George and Stacy!

Back in the day we used a rivet gun to mount these on. Not wanting to drill through my deck, I used a counter sink drillbit (available here) up from the bottom instead of the directions-suggested top. I’m so much more inclined to tail brake now riding downhill on our nice pathways than grind away my deck. This is easily replaceable. -wish it included a sticker.

Wide enough for this board. Even had to trim a bit off the sides for a perfect fit. Slides really well. Odd smell to it but seemed to go away after a while. Better than a homemade plexiglas tail guard!

Powell Tail-Bone Slider not only protects the tail of your deck but you can slide to a slow stop which I enjoy at full speed. Great product.

No screws included as per instructions. Bag was torn.

Note this is made for a 10 inch board, However I trimmed to fit my 8.25 inch board. place on board, trace along board and cut 1/4 inboard from trace. Also you will have to re-drill your holes and Countersink. Clamp to cut with Jig saw and sand with high speed sander. Dremel's work but take longer and there is lots of white plastic residue when cutting. From the picture it works be more patient than me.......

Used a drill bit smaller than the screws, and "wobble expanded" so they wouldn't bite too hard on the board, and cause a space when driving into the plate. The third one, that's what happened. Tried backing out the screw (power tool), stripped the head. There was enough left for me to use a small straight edge bit, along with a an impact driver, to pull it out. Drilled out the pilot hole again, used the straight edge setup, when the screw hit the plate, it sucked it down to the board hard. Super happy with the slide of the nylon. Will buy again

Fits perfectly on a Santa Cruze Bart Slasher. No trimming required. The instructions said to use a 7/32" drill bit but that's too big, I used a 5/32" and it worked perfectly.

Faut t'il vraiment encore présenter le Tail-Bone cet Accessoires original de Powell-Peralta. Je pense qu'il faut rappeler que cette protection a vu le jour durant les années 80 avec les célèbres représentant made in Powell Peralta la fameuse BONES BRIGADE et ces jeunes talents qui sont aujourd'hui les légendes de se sport. Ce produit était adapté et conçu aux planches poisson de l'époque. Si vous désirez monter cet accesoire correctement pour protéger un plateau au gabarit actuel il vous faudra à 90% jouer de l'huile de coude et sortir des outils autre qu'un Tool multi usage. Pour fair les choses correctement et proprement il vous faudra, une perceuse, une scie ou scie sauteuse, une ponceuse à rouleau et et quelques bonne notions le bricolage. Par contre une fois installé ça devient comme de la shoegoo pour basquette. Encore une foi un produit qui n'a plus rien à prouver, efficace et tellement Old-school pour tous les nostalgiques qui aime joindre l'utile à l'agréable. (Livré en +/- 25cm ou 8 Inch adapté et fixé sur le tail de mon plateau Sector9 en 14cm). (mise à jour 2019) DOG TOWN SKATES projet 2025 Tail-Bone adapté pour une planche de + /- 20 cm toujours un régal de monter ces pièces dont on se servaient déjà il y à +/- 35ans. 50ans et toujours le même plaisir malgré les divers operations des genoux, du dos et des cervicales. Mais tout cela fait partie du plaisir de vivre 🤙🏻.
