The plug works, but I am removing stars for the fact that it is pretty difficult to setup plus you have to have an account to make this product work. You have to download an app to your phone, create an account, then set the wifi switch up. If you want to use Alexa, then you have to log into your alexa stuff, enable a skill, enter the password, then finish it all. However, Im not sure why there is a need for a server. Even the home brew wifi plug I built with 7.00 in parts doesn't need to go through an outside server to work, nor does many of the others on the market.Lastly, after some researching, I haven't been able to locate any kind of Privacy policy. The Privacy policy link on the Google App goes directly to their corporate business website and has no privacy policy listed, so I can only assume the account creation process is for data mining purposes. As such, take precautions, make sure you use a junk email address and not your phone number.Spend a few extra bucks and get a wifiplug that works without having to use accounts.

I got this smart plug to put an accent lamp on a timer, and it works perfectly for that. There's an app to be downloaded to make that work, and app and switch function well together, letting me schedule the plug to turn on and off at designated hours.It's not quite so smart when it comes to Alexa interaction -- I couldn't make it visible to Alexa no matter what I tried, so keep that in mind. It might work for you, but I do know there are many other smart plugs that connect with Alexa without a hitch.However, this one's intended to be just a timer for me, so I'm happy with it. I'm not investing any more time trying to introduce it to Alexa so I can control it by voice (I know precisely how to do that and this one stubbornly resists), but for my purposes, this semi-smart switch is just smart enough.If you want the real deal that connects with Homekit, is also a dimmer, and acts as a repeater for all other Lutron smart switches, spend the $54.95 on a Lutron Caseta Wireless Smart Lighting Lamp Dimmer.

This is a nice product for the price! It has a nice app in the app store, pairs easily with your router and phone. The instructions are written in clear easily understood English, the product feels heavy and well made. I will definitely buy more of their smart products. I hope to buy their light switch next after seeing the quality of this plug. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to dip their toes into the smart home products.

Recently got an echo and wanted the smart plug to help. I am disabled and the ability to turn things on and off by voice is a major help sometimes. Fast and easy set up. If your wifi or internet surges a lot you will have problems with any type of plug though. This allows only one smart plug per outlet but can be controlled by Alexa or a phone app from anywhere in the house.

Had a lamp with a 100 watt bulb plugged into mine. We kept smelling something in the room where it was being used. We decided to move it to another room and when we unplugged it we found it had melted!! Could have burned our house down! Please be careful when using this product the quality is very suspect.

Great plug physically... setting it up is what made it 4 stars instead of 5. It had trouble being discovered automatically in the OEM app, I had to switch to AP mode (in the app) to connect and it worked. Works well with Alexa, now I can turn on my ancient non timer rice cooker 15 minutes before I get home hah!

The set up was ridiculous. I'd rather walk 10 steps to manually turn on my light than try to get it to work. It worked once with Alexa and then I had to keep finding it on the App so Alexa could turn it on.

Hello all:This is a great product. Took less that 10 minutes to complete the setup. Easy to install, attach to your network and been recognize by Echo. Instructions easy to follow. 100% recommended!!!
