Great Premium EDC Light
Obviously this light is at a premium price point for most as an EDC light. Though, I really do believe it’s a good value for what you’re getting. Super nice quality, very bright, and of course the surefire signature great beam pattern (good blend of throw and spread). For myself, this is a great size for EDC. It’s a perfect size to hold in a pole like grasp without protruding through the end of my hand that much. I will say it was a bit thicker than other lights, though that makes it feel better in the hand. It works good in a Jean pocket, and can work with slacks as well (although a slimmer light may work better for lightweight dressy fabrics). The finish on the light feels good in quality - feels durable like a lot of premium military gear/guns finish. I my prediction has come through that the finish wears nicely. For someone that has experienced plenty of EDC lights (all of which were less expensive) and that really didn’t understand the surefire appeal, I must say I totally get it now. There’s no issues with the light, inspires confidence with its quality and durability, and performs great.

Typical Surefire High Quality. Great EDC Light!!
Very small, very tough light. I'm pretty sure this one is smaller than the original E1B Back Up. The body is knurled though, the original E1B was smooth. This one feels more grippy for sure. I love the beam on this. Lots of bright spill, very different from the tight white throwy spot most surefire lights have. If you don't like spill, don't get this light. For my purposes, it has plenty of useful throw as well. The low setting is pretty low, great for close up work or preserving night vision as much as possible, but very, very little throw on the low setting.I don't love the tail cap switch and the light is head/bezel heavy, kinda out of balance feeling. I think the tail switch is a bit too easy to engage. It has a very soft feel. I carry this in my front right jeans pocket and I twist it a quarter turn so it won't push on in my pocket and drain the battery. I do not like that the switch engages so easily, but it isn't a deal breaker. The pocket clip is the same as on the other Back Up models. I don't love it, feels a bit thin and flimsy, but it does the job. I would never trust a $199 light clipped to my pocket with it though. This light will last forever and is tough as nails. Typical Surefire rugged quality. I would buy another and recommend this one. You can trust it's toughness, durability, and reliability and that's what you need in a flashlight, especially if you are only carrying the one. The small size makes it very easy to EDC in a jeans or jacket pocket unless you wear very tight pants.I've heard people say, "Buy once, cry once." This light is very pricey, but it'll be the last one you ever buy or need and you'll likely pass it down to your kids as well. It's going to last.

Surefire
An excellent EDC light, plus it’s a Surefire, so quality is on point. It’s compact and extremely bright for its size. If you’re looking for an EDC light that will fit in your pocket, get it, you’ll never have to replace it.

Surefire Quality.
Have owning several Surefire flashlights this one fills a hole in my collection. I purchased this for EDC usage & have been carrying for around a month now in my left front jeans pocket ( right pocket dedicated to Benchmade knife). The quality is as expected need I say more. This is the first Surefire Maxvision I have ever owned so I was very excited to test it out. Results: I’m really impressed how smooth the food beam spills out, the color is white & the 400 lumens could fill a room, light up my front yard or surly blind someone if needed. As expected the throw is not going to be that of other models. If I need throw I’ll break out my Fury DFT Intellibeam.Update: the rechargeable batteries only last 20 minutes. Barely gets me through a dog walk. The throw away batteries last a little longer but definitely not a fuel efficient system with the rechargeable batteries. Take it for what it’s worth. Come on Surefire, please don’t let China pass you by. (Former Navy weapons specialist)

Small and powerful
At this price point this things a hit on the wallet but after a few weeks into use it may well be justified. It’s a super handy flashlight sits in the pocket easily, very bright and throws a large light area. It’s very solid. The dual power output function is a good thing ensuring maximum battery life if you did find yourself stuck in the dark for any length of time. For its small size this is a big light.
