Superficial y ligero
El libro empieza con una narracion ligera pero simpatica y en algunos momentos jocosa, pero poco a poco va perdiendo el humor y se convierte en una novela tonta, sin interes y sin rumbo. Lastima que un buen escritor se pierda en superficialidades . No logra su objetivo que tal vez es burlarse de la mediocridad de las telenovelas latinoamericanas.

Oscar y las mujeres
The Spanish is easy enough to read for most bilingual readers having at least 3 years of Spanish. It reads like a telenovela which it is the account of a telenovela writer.Facil para leer si el lector es hispanohablante. Se parece mucho a una telenovela. El cuento es de un guionista de telenovelas y lo que sufre con las mujeres que conoce. Hay mucha tension entre el protagonist, su esposa, la actriz que hace el papel de una esposa en su telenovela y various prostitutas.

The novela by Santiago Roncagliolo is the fourth novel I have read by him.As always Santiago makes me read the novel inmediatly and not leave it for another day.Santiago is one of the latin american novelist that are making a profound change and are taking the honor of these new boon.

Ligera, pero cansona.
El argumento promete mucho, los primeros capitulos tambien, pero a medida que te adentras en la historia te aburres. Los personajes todos inverosimiles, a excepcion de Natalia. La novela no vale su precio.

Funny
This novel was very fun to read. Really like it. I did not know about the author until I read this novel and I must say I find him very talented. While I was reading it, I felt as if I knew the characters in person.

He seguido con mucho entusiasmo cada una de las entregas y el final ha sido encantador. La manera en que uno puede explorar las contradicciones de Óscar ha hecho de esta novela una grata experiencia. Creo que mi personaje favorito es Nereida.

A good laugh
After reading a string of funny books, and then finding out that Roncagliolo had just published a new book and it was a comedy, I ordered it right away and read it. The book was funny and absurd. Scenes like the dentist office apology (flying "pointy" things) or setting his kitchen on fire after trying to get even with his ex-girlfriend steal the show and kept me page-turning. Roncagliolo sets the story in Miami and perhaps, aims for the American market. He parodied everyday fame and excess which helps to make this unbelievable story even more funny.Of course there is the inevitable comparison is to "Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter" by Mario Vargas Llosa, the more famous Peruvian writer. Both stories center on the Latino soap opera (in Vargas Llosa's account - radio; in Rogcagliolo's - television) and yet they are two totally different books and both stand on their own.The ending became a little too sentimental for my tastes but still a good laugh. Three and three quarter stars. I would still recommend it!

Una gran idea
Acabo de terminar de leer la primera entrega de la nueva novela (o folletín, como se prefiera) de Roncagliolo, y tengo que recomendarlo.El personaje principal es un excéntrico escritor de telenovelas cuya propia vida amorosa es un desastre.No hay mucho que contar a estas alturas, pero seguiré con las próximas entregas.

Vaya timo
El primer "capitulo" , por llamarlo de alguna manera, no dura ni media hora. No compro ninguno mas, y eso que el otro libro que lei del autor me gusto bastante.
