Fantastic for what it is
This is a great entry point for Spyderco. If you're just getting into knives, or if you're new to Spyderco, this is a nice starting point. It's decently lightweight, comfortable in the hand, easy to sharpen, and fun to play with. Yes, you can do all the fun Spydie stuff with this knife, drops and flicks, it's fun to deploy and fidget with. The two weak points are the price and the steel, well, the price is a weak point because of the steel. For this price you can get Nitro-V or maybe even VG10, but you're paying the Spydie tax for this knife. The steel is not terrible, and it'll hold up well for cardboard and packaging tape, but if you need a hard use knife that you're going to be slicing things every day, probably avoid this knife and save your money for something better. The Spyderco Cat is not much more than this knife, and has better steel.

Not Too Big, Not Too Small, The Just Right Size Knife
This Spyderco "lightweight" at 3.3 oz. is a compact 3" bladed knife that is a much better value than the Para 3 or the Sage 5. Those are good knives, but this is a good knife as well. It is a good size, not too big, not too small, and not too heavy. A very good buy from Amazon at $46.00. It's a favorite. And yes, I have a number of Spyderco knives, both bigger and smaller. The 2.5" blades seem a little short, the 3" and larger seem a little long, but the 2.77" edge length is just right. And this knife blade was sharp, right out of the box. The smaller version, the Ambitious is also a great knife and frequently carried. The larger version, the Tenacious lightweight is great as well. They're all sharp out of the box, an excellent design for a liner-lock knife, and a mainstay of the Spyderco value lineup.

Great everyday for the price.
Blade holds a edge for a long time, easy to sharpen and takes the abuse. Ive had the smaller version and didnt like it as much as this one. Great knife.

Solid lock, sharp blade, great handle
I have a few mid-range knives of different brands and this knife by far has the most confident locking mechanism of them all. When this thing is open, it’s open and you can be confident in it. Blade is sharp, nice grip. Grip is almost too nice though, it takes a little effort to get it out of the pocket due to the texture of the scales. But that’s just preference. While I am careful with my knives I know if I have to get a little rough with it the knife will hold up.

Go to EDC
Third Persistence knife I own. I have used the knife for everything from cutting open shipping boxes to field dressing deer. Blade durability is top notch and very easy to sharpen.

Bueno
