New MonBaby Smart Button - a Smart Breathing and Movement Monitor - Blue

Owning this for exactly 2 months, daily use our opinions may change about the product as time passes, as with everything you own.Our recent interactions with their customer service has left my wife and I smiling. As stated in my previous review, we do really love this product. The only thing it really fell short on, when it came to usability, was the range. The range we saw across multiple iPhone's and iPads was roughly 15-20 feet from the device without obstruction between the sensor started losing connection. This was a bummer based upon the fact that our son sleeps in the room across the hall from ours, and even with leaving the doors open, we saw connectivity problems.Thankfully, their customer service reached out to us to inform that they a] know about this issue. Again this may be just part of the limitations of their connectivity method. AND b] they have worked out a solution to resolve this.This is AMAZING news.So onto the original review:We've had this thing for the last couple of months, using it on our first child *yes worried parents*.We decided in this unit over the owlet sock, mainly because of the price and ease of use. Of course we worry about SIDS or suffocation and since we're both first time parents, rushing to the crib at every startle becomes exhausted.We use this in combination with:• a cheap audio only baby monitor. - For constant audio listen in.• nest camera - For remote viewing and a live camera feed .The things we like about it is:• motion detection for breathing and the turnover detection.• price. it's much cheaper than the alternative motors.• ease of use. It pairs really easy with your devices. We've tested it on a variety of apple devices from iPad 2, iPad 3 and iPad 4 (no issues on either of them other than the range, we'll get into that below). iPhone6s & 7+ works without issues as well.{updated}Our biggest issue with this product, as mentioned above was the range. We saw intermittent signal drops when going beyond 15-20 feet from the sensor. This would be without any obstructions, which of course is rarely the use. Both doors open from our sons room to ours, clear view was better, but it didn't work perfectly.The company has since reached out and stated that they 1] know about this issue (which is half the battle to get the company aware) and 2] they have a work around for this issue.I feel that maybe the issue isn't as much the device, but the limitations of the Bluetooth transport method. -- Original-- unedited.Now the part the company should pay attention to.The things we don't like about it is.•The range between the sensor and your device is complete garbage. Anything beyond 15' (on all devices mentioned above) will result in the device freaking out and constantly disconnecting and trying to reconnect. This means your phone or tablet will have to be in the same room as the sensor. Luckily we had an old iPad that will run the software, it sits in the same room, next to the baby monitor. They have to fix this because truth be told, they have a proximity feature that I couldn't see being any use at the moment. Version 2 of this product MUST have better range.• There is an option to pause the sensor's notifications for 5 or 10 minutes... but you can't select longer than that. The problem is 10 minutes isn't enough time to change and feed your child. It's as if the creators of this device hasn't fed a hungry infant at 3am. Which means that the excessive movement alarm is useless during changing and feeding. So it's always off for us. If they would add in a longer pause, like 30 minutes, this would be great.• the app needs to support landscape mode. This is a very minor issue, but still problematic. Would be nice if it supported both orientations.All in all, I would say it does provide me (the father) with tremendous peace of mind. I worry about my son stopping breathing in the middle of the night and truth be told I slept MUCH better after getting this device, than before.I would recommend it BUT devs, you have issues you need to tackle before taking over the market.

I’ve been researching various types of monitors and this design was a clear winner. I ruled out the once you put under mattresses since baby can move around the crib which might give false alarm and the baby sometimes sleeps in the pack and play playard and that would mean buying second monitor.I didn’t want to use a monitor that you have to clip on the pampers since pampers sometimes leak and they looked bulky comparing to the monbaby button. So there was no choice but to go with the monbaby.I am very satisfied with this monitor. Initially we tried to use the position and movement alerts. The alarm would sound each time we burped the baby (the sensor correctly thought the baby was on its stomach) so we had to turn that function off. There is an easy way to turn off all alarm for 10 minutes, but that is not enough time. So we started using it just for the movement monitor. We tested it by placing it on the table and the alarm sounds after about 5 seconds. Just make sure to place the button on the cloth that fits tightly on the body (ex slip and play, t-short, pants). Once we placed it on the sleeping bag that was too loose and the alarm went off since the area when the button was placed ended up too far away from the baby and was not moving so the sensor thought the baby was not breezing. Another useful option is to calibrate it once and then change settings to skip the calibration. Just make sure when you connect your phone to the button – it has to be on the baby already or you should hold it in your hand (so there is a movement) – otherwise the alarm will sound right away. You don’t want it to happen when the baby just fell asleep and the loud alarm sounds off.

I,m glad we purchased Monbaby we sleep better at night 👍 I have no problems with losing connection or the range baby sleeps in the same Room so it works great for us I saw some of the reviews I was not sure to purchase the item. But I’m glad I did,like every product out there something wont be 100% but it worked for us thank you Monbaby making life more easy for us 👪

Pros: Attached to clothes easily. versatile, since it can attach to any clothing item.Cons: the battery only lasts a few daysIt worked great for about a month. Then suddenly, it started constantly alarming that baby wasn't breathing when she was. The signal range is pretty small. The phone it pairs with pretty much had to be in the same room or it would lose connection. We were able to cope with this by just leaving the phone in the room & using the baby monitor to listen for the alarm.We ended up returning due to the constant false alarms. This was supposed to help us get a little sleep at night with out worrying as much, instead, it kept us up all night with false alarms.

The app gives alarms every time the baby is picked up but this can be fixed by changing the settings or snoozing the app before picking up the baby.I really liked having this device at first for the peace of mind, but changed my mind once I noticed that I would lose signal with the device while being in the same bedroom. Also, one time while putting the device on a table, the app was telling me that it could detect breathing. When I saw that, I just felt like I couldn't trust it anymore. This product has a lot of potential, but definitely needs some improvement. I hate leaving bad reviews, but hopefully reviews like mine will encourage the manufacturer to improve this product.

Had this for a few days and tried it out on our new baby. It was really difficult to attach to thicker jammies and constantly said that our little one wasn't moving and/or breathing or heart rate undetected which as a new parent....stressful!! found I was more stressed by this than by just letting my little one sleep without it so i returned it a few days later.
