Good unidirectional mic!
The media could not be loaded. This dedicated desktop microphone by Ekasoco is big and hefty in the right ways and offers a pretty good experience at a reasonable price. It has a simple front interface, with an microphone volume control, instant mute button and 3.5mm jack out. It’s cabled via a standard USB-C cable, with an included 1.5m length cable but due to the common nature of USB-C’s, this can be reduced or expanded pretty easily. It also offers “universal plug and play”, allowing you to connect it with either a PC or Mac and it simply be picked up and “just work”, which is all pretty neat. There’s an included tripod which you’ll either get on with or you won’t. I think it’ll ultimately depend on your workspace – if you need to place this in front of a monitor and your monitor’s not raised above it’s default stand then this tripod will place the microphone in an optimal way to pick up recordings but also in the way of your workspace. If you’ve got your monitors on monitor arms placed level with your eye-line, then chances are this tripod will place itself very neatly underneath and again be placed in an optimal space. It can be a little top heavy if aimed too the side, so ideally needs to be angled more upwards towards you.The mic works unidirectionally – so essentially in a single direction. So it definitely works best in independent work, with it struggling to work in any omnidirectional setting – so if you’re intending to use this to record instrumental music, record background or a wide source of noise, or a multi guest podcast then this mic won’t be for you. If you’re intending use is for gaming, discord, recording vocal applications or working from home then it’s much better suited.

I have a different version to this microphone
I was trying to work out what's going on with this microphone but I've realised that I got sent a different one. It's only 3 inches long but does come with a fluffy noise cover or a foam one. There's no controls on this one though. The instructions for this one are non existent apart from a spec sheet.A video light is included which is good but for the life of me I can't work out hpw to turn the microphone on. There's no buttons or switches on it. I've tried plugging it into my phone plus a portable speaker but absolutely nothing happens. The quality seems good but without any connection or usage instructions I cant6give it more than two stars sorry.

Great mic for the price - with some limitations though ❔
For the price of this USB mic (£24.99 at the time of review), it is actually a fantastic mic - good audio pick up and decent sound quality - BUT you have to take into consideration its limitations (as it's not meant top be a professional mic).I have quite specific requirements when using my pc for online video/conference calls - I have to be heard clearly and I must be able to hear clearly and it must be loud and be able to control the volume ad-hoc... I also have to be able to mute a call quickly at a touch of a button. The good points:1/ The mic feels extremely well made and solid, has a good weight to it and looks pretty cool as well2/ 3.5mm headphone socket3/ The sound pick up is pretty good, even at 1 metre away from me4/ The audio sent is good quality, clear and crisp5/ There is a dedicated mute push button (also a negative - see below)6/ Adjustable headset volume and mic gain (also a negative - see below)7/ Good, well engineered stand (also a negative - see below)8/ Comes with both USB-A to USB-A and USB-A to USB-C cablesLimitations (more related to work environment than social):1/ The adjustable headset volume and mic gain are on the SAME ADJUSTABLE DIAL - they are adjusted simultaneously - this is not an issue if you are not using the headphone socket, but if you are (like I do), then this is the biggest issue. I need to be able to control the headphone volume and the mic gain separately. During a call/meeting my mic gain will be constant, BUT I will need to adjust the headphone volume ad-hoc during the call to adjust to hear different people on the call.2/ Although there is a dedicated mute push button, when you push it and have the gain set to max, there is a very loud click that is picked up by the mic and sent as audio - the mute button is not isolated from feedback !3/ Although the stand is a very good stand, that is all the mic can use - it MUST use that stand and therefore can only stand on a desk - there is NO 3/8" or 5/8" thread such that you can connect the mic to a boom, mic arm or mic stand - very limited placement.Remembering this is NOT designed as a 'Professional Mic', and does not have a professional price tag - this is a FANTASTIC mic - extremely well made, great value, great pick up, good clear audio, dedicated mute button, headphone socket and headphone/mic control (but with limitations)... this is an EASY 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ imho.

A good beginner's microphone.
- This is the perfect microphone for somebody who needs to records stuff but doesn't want to spend a fortune.- Perhaps you're starting a Youtube channel or you want to start streaming and want something that will work well but also be affordable.- This is an excellent choice and a good middle-ground between quality and cost.- Overall, the sound is quite clear and crisp and is especially good for talking, not so much for recording instruments or singing.- It struggles to records clean high-pitch and bassy sounds but if you stick to a normal, speaking volume it records well and it sounds very clear.- The build of the mic itself is fairly good. Despite being an inexpensive unit, it has good weight to it and feels solid. Unlike other cheap microphones, it doesn't feel plasticky which is great.I would say this is an excellent choice as a 'starter' or 'beginner' microphone. Overall good quality without having to spend hundreds of pounds. There's better out there but, for this price, this is a good pick.
