Superior Quality 100 Watt Solar Panel
I am a solar submersible well pump dealer/installer and just last week I ordered the 100 Watt HQST solar panel. When I received it i really felt and seen the top quality and make up of the panel. I was surprised because the panel was at 112 dollars and I expected it to be cheaply made. Not this one, this panel I will use mounted on a tripod to charge my RV batteries while out in the field. I will no longer need to trickle charge my battery using AC, I plan on leaving this panel outside all year round to keep my batteries fresh. I have no doubt that this solar panel will weather the elements nicely and without any problems. Get it now, just don't buy them all because I will be ordering some more soon. Great panels, affordable, perform as advertised.
This is an excellent product. I'm using 4 of these panels wired in series/parallel for 24 volts/400 watts. In full sunlight, I've seen my 4 panels reach ~395 watts. This is amazing efficiency for for such an affordable panel. I've tested each panel with a multimeter and have my panel array hooked to a digital volt meter. I can say that the panels perform to their advertised specifications. One of the panels arrived damaged from shipping, customer service was fast and they sent me a replacement panel the day after I contacted them. All they required was a picture of the damaged panel. Also, HQST sends you a little pamphlet with these panels, offering you a free 2W/6V solar panel, in return for you leaving a review. While this is the reason I am writing this review (I usually don't bother leaving reviews for anything), it in no way influenced my review. These panels are well constructed and very efficient, I don't think you can beat them for the price.

Great quality panels for our home DIY solar setup!
We purchased a couple of these solar panels and compared them to the Windy Nation 100 Watt 12 Volt Polycrystalline Solar Panels and found that at least for the panels that we received, they produced a similar number of watts with the same sun exposure. The HQST and the Windy Nation Panels are all very good quality and well built. Probably the only difference is that the Windy Nation panels are more expensive and the MC4 cables are a little longer. We eventually purchased 18 more HQST panels and we hooked up 20 of these panels to create a 24V 2kW system on top of our garage. The 20 panels generate post-inverter about 11kWh per day during sunny days in Northern California that we can use or feed back into the grid. We never measured how much inverter loss there is though. Most of the panels face south, but we also face some of the panels west because electricity prices are much higher for us in the late afternoon. I'm happy with their performance, as it has reduced our electricity bill by about $100 per month, so the system should pay for itself in a couple of years! We would install more, but we have run out of easily accessible roof space.

geat value
I bought this panel for a single purpose - run my old 12V cooler on a desert trip in southern California.I did not buy a controller or a battery, simply plugged it directly into the cooler which needs 4-5 Amps at 12-14V.It kept our food nice and cold during the day and, as the temp went down into the 40s at night, the cooler coasted through the night and revved back up again as soon as the sun came up.Of course I had to move it several times a day to keep it in direct sun. In the morning I propped it up on the rear bumper, during the day on the roof and as the afternoon progressed I moved it to the hood. see pictureI plan to someday upgrade from a tent to a teardrop trailer. Then I'll get a battery and controller and fabricate a permanent, swivel mount for this panel.Mind you, in the upper Midwest, it won't produce near the power it did in the southern desert. It produces 5-6 Amps in "full sunlight" which means no clouds, no trees, no buildings. Low angle sun in the north doesn't deliver near the illumination that high angle southern desert sun does. This is why solar doesn't pay back in Detroit, Chicago or Minneapolis. Not enough sun.It works great in the desert. I'll be trying it in Moab UT next year.

Great panel...I own 48 of this style
I own 48 of these 100D Renogy/HQST panels and can say I have never had one go bad. I did have one come in with the diodes in the wrong position (easy fix). So, been running this style panel (mono, 100w) for almost FOUR years now. No noticeable loss of power or performance. A couple of them have some silicone "snail trails"...but, that doesn't affect the performance (just looks weird). Many ask "why" did I go with 100w panels vs 200 or 320w panels. These are easy to handle and move around when needed. Once they are secured on a racking system (I use Superstrut and Superstrut spring nuts) they are MORE secure than a larger panel. And, if hail hits and messes up one...less $$$ to replace. Also, with more panels...you can string them up for higher voltage (and use MPPT solar chargers). I own three Midnite Solar Classics, two EPever Tracers, and a couple of PWMs. The price has come down on these panels so...IMO, would buy them while you can. I attached a picture of my 24 panels array (I have two more arrays).UPDATE (June 8, 2018) - Panels are going great...no issues with performance. I just want to add that these panels are NOT packaged well at all vs Renogy. Thin cardboard, little/no corner protection, blank box (no "Fragile" sticker). So, buyer beware...best to be home when they arrive. If there is a hole in the box or ANY indication of manhandling...don't accept it.

and arrived in excellent condition. I have them installed
This was a followup order of 2 HQST 100 watt solar panels, after having received and tested one in March. They were promptly shipped, and arrived in excellent condition. I have them installed, on my roof. Typically, with an inexpensive MPPT Solar Charge Controller, I see around 60 watts from just one panel in the mid-afternoon sun, but it did test even higher just before noon. See the attached photos.
