🎸 Elevate Your Sound: Unleash the Echo of Excellence!
The JHS Milkman Echo and Boost Guitar Effects Pedal is a versatile tool designed for guitarists seeking the perfect slap-back delay. With controls for slap time, mix level, repeat frequency, and EQ, this pedal allows for precise sound customization. Its transparent boost feature ensures your tone cuts through the mix, while a maximum delay time of 240ms makes it easy to dial in the perfect effect. Operating at a standard DC Negative 9V, this pedal is a must-have for any serious musician.

Not for Everyone!
The JHS Milkman is not your standard delay pedal. That may come off as some sort of cheeky puffery. It is not. This pedal will not function like a typical delay pedal. It is specifically designed for the “Slapback” effect that is commonly found in country and rockabilly. This may not be the pedal for you. So be aware of its limitations. If you buy this pedal expecting to dial in some crazy echo effects for ambience, you’re going to be very disappointed. Now that is out of the way, how does it sound? Honestly, not that much different than the typical Slapback effect you can dial in on a typical delay pedal. The magic comes in the simplicity of the pedal. All it does is Slapback. So when you tweak the knobs you're just adjusting settings for Slapback possibilities. Which means you can dial in a usable Slapback setting in seconds. The pedal is primarily for people who appreciate the simplicity and ease of use. You may not want to pay for that. If you love having a million different options in a pedal, there are much better choices for you than The Milkman. As for me, I’m a bit of a chicken picker and I found this pedal by watching Youtube demos. After getting my hands on it I can say it sounds great and it is super easy to dial in your slapback. Really like the way it sounds with some Fender spring reverb. Country, Rockabilly, Surf Guitar, many possibilities here. Noticed one user having trouble with Humbuckers. I was using a telecaster in the middle position. Had a single coil in the bridge and mini humbucker in the neck pickup for a full sound along with that Tele snap. I had no troubles at all with using the pedal with a humbucker.

Great reverb on my board
I love having two “tanks” for the reverb. I can go from always on to over the top ambient. Playing Christian Contemporary Music this is huge for me. This kicked my verb o trem off the board at least for now.

It does one thing really well, and...that's it.
This is a fun pedal if you are really into the 80s guitar sound heavily used by R*** A****, but that is about it. The controls are pretty limited, even if there are usable tones within. I would only recommend this if you are into alt-country/singer-songwriter/adult contemporary guitar music, or don't have much space on your pedalboard. Otherwise it is overpriced for what it does.

A Delay/Echo that just works
This is a really nice delay/echo pedal. It's not as digital sounding as others I have tried. The boost feature might come in handy if you don't have another boost on your board. The only thing I dislike is the odd shape. I tried it vertically for a few weeks and finally just had to switch it to horizontal so I could hit the buttons with my big feet. I am personally more into the old Sun Studio slap back sound rather than the U2 type sound so your mileage might vary.

Dreamy
The pedal really adds so much depth and dimension. It’s fun to crank up the reverb and just space out

I associated "Milkman" with the famous Milkman amplifiers for steel guitars
I have a slideking lap steel that I hoped this pedal would give me a nice "Pedal Steel" sound with the delay, and boost. It works awesome, wide range of adjustment from mild to wild. Or you can just use the boost for a nice distortion sound that's not too dirty.

If I could only have one pedal, this would be the one.
This is my “if I could only have one pedal on a desert island” pedal. The slap back is perfection: not too much, not too little. And I play with the boost on 95% of the time. Between the two effects, it’s an ALWAYS on pedal. 95% of the time both effects are engaged. The other 5% of the time it’s one or the other.

Disappointing
Nowhere near enough reverb for authentic sounding surf music. Very disappointed- returned for a refund.

Brilliant slap/echo pedal with boost on the side!
Sounds fantastic, very quiet/clean and really enhances the tone of a good amp.

Stopped working after a 8 months
This is a good sounding spring reverb. I really liked it, until it started to do weird things. It started to have major output problems, with almost no output coming out of it. I made all the tests required, trying a different power supply, different cable, switching between the FX loop and the front of the amp, etc. The issue was always coming back. JHS failed to repair it and offered me a 25% coupon on merch (not on a new pedal)... So yeah, never buying JHS ever again.
