Magnetic helping hand is more than I expected. It is a heavy duty tool that will last. Assembly took about 10 minutes and was simple being mostly magnetic. All parts were included in a secure package.

I have only had this for a couple days, but so far, so good! Each of the 4 arms holds in place quite well and the magnifying glass light is extremely bright and has 2 kinds of white light to see what I’m doing! Comes with a second set of pinchers! The magnets that hold everything to the metal plate are very strong!even comes with rubber feet! The only issue I have is the arms don’t stay exactly where I want them when bent into extreme positions. Nothing terrible.

Really makes it easier to work on PCBs. I am using it for building small radio kits and my own IoT projects. The metal plate is heavy and doesn’t wander, the magnets are strong and hold well. The magnifier light could be brighter, but it’s USB powered so you can’t expect too much. It does have two color temperatures which can help with seeing component markings. All in all a nice addition to the workbench.

This product is really well made for the price. Heavy metal base plate provides excellent stability. Strong magnets hold arms in place. All parts are strong and well made.

First it is a lot more sturdy then I thought it was going to be. The small spike like holder's has a groove that holds the electronic board even while soldering. The strong magnets holding them to the metal work stationary a life saver.( Please remove plastic from all the parts :)) What you can't see in the picture.... the light is bright the clamps could be a little better. Very thin and light weight compared to the rest of the structure. I was pleasantly surprised by the whole rig. Well worth the money.

This is an excellent tool for circuit board construction and electronics repair. The magnets are very strong (neomidium I think). The spring clamps could open a little bit wider which would make it easier to grab onto things like XLR connectors and such. The light uses usb power, so if you have it on a workbench you might need a power supply. Overall works great.

Overall this is a great product. We used something similar in the aerospace industry. My only complaint is the price point. If it was 20%-30% cheaper it would be crowned king of all soldering accessories. I'd still recommend because of the versatility.

I've had a couple of those standard helping hands over the years - the ones with the two clips and a magnifying glass - and I considered just getting another one of those when I saw the price of this unit, but after hymning and hawing I decided to give this a try and I am anything BUT disappointed. I love this set of helping hands! It super functional and adaptable for so many tasks beyond what you'd expect, allowing you to hold your parts a hundred different ways. The Magnifying glass, although small, is good quality glass with great and adjustable ring lighting - love that you can change the light temperature as well - and since I got it I've been using for work and as a general desk light. The pillars make working on a board so easy too, but the best feature is the articulating arm. The only plastic parts on the articulating arm are the knobs for the screws. The rest is all metal, including the clamp that holds it to the table and the magnetic holder that holds it to the base. Although I use the table clamp most of the time, the magnetic base is also great when you need a bit more flexibility, and it has a strong enough magnet to hold the arm and my Hot Air rework gun without problem. The claw on it is really high quality, it opens and closes with ease and is highly adaptable; use it to hold that hot air gun or a flashlight or just about anything else you can think of. If you do electronics work, do yourself a favor and get this. You won't regret it.

A must have esential tool if you do a lot of electronic work or other hobbies in which you need multiple hands. Yes you can make your own I did but soon found limitations with the one I made. Its big enough for now if need be I just need a bigger base plate as long as it is magnetic metal not stainless steel or not aluminium. Well worth the money spent, and it looks cool when you are working with it reminds me of a mad scientist.

I love this work station, I don't solder but it was exactly what I needed for my needle felting project, I would have never been able to complete this life size wool clone without it. I made a few pin inserts to go into the clamps where the alligator clips go so it would hold my project. It is well built and heavy enough to stay where you put it.
