Awesome, all non-metal...
I know KaBar doesn’t want to market this thing as something to avoid metal detectors, hence the cheesy metal lanyard, but I immediately replaced it with paracord and have been wearing it all day. I got if for “non-permissive” evironments with metal detectors, not illegal ones. Don’t even try to get through TSA or something, but at a concert venue or something, this makes a perfect, undetectable neck knife. I guess you could also wear it on your ankle. I don’t recommend the belt thing. First off, your metal buckle will draw attention to that area, and secondly I think all of these people that say the sheath is junk because they lost the knife we’re wearing it on their belt. It’s just held in by a pressure snap in the center. It’s strong enough for neck application, but if you have it on your belt, sitting down and putting any pressure on it could make it come loose. On your neck, not much happens to cause this, and if you did bump something it would be much easier to notice it falling out of your shirt. Anyway, great last-ditch defensive weapon or for environments where it is not against the law to carry a knife, but they do have metal detectors. It’s also very light weight and a decent defense option anyhow. Stay safe.

It is what it is!
It is exactly as described, it is a plastic knife for last ditch self defense, it is lightweight but fairly sturdy.... it won’t cut open boxes or carve your steak but it could possibly save your life if you can get to it. If your looking for a razor sharp utility knife, this isn’t what you are looking for! I would highly recommend it for your loved ones purse or just to keep around your neck and use it sparingly because resharpening it may be a bit fiddle!

An interesting plastic neck carry knife that is light weight and fun to practice with for self-defense.
I have been collecting various kinds of blade weapons (Samurai Swords, European swords, and numerous knives) for more than sixty years and you would think I would have no more room for another knife; however, as anyone knows, there is also room for at least one more knife. The first thing that caught my eye when I ordered this knife on Amazon recently (for a bargain price) was the gun shape handle portion. I just received this unique Ka-Bar TDI shark bite knife in the mail and there are a lot of things to like about this neck knife product put out by Ka-Bar. It is very light weight made from hard plastic with a neck knife sheath and chain. The total length is 5 inches with the blade portion at 2 ½ inches long. I love this plastic sheath which clips the knife securely in place and all you have to do is push locking device down as you pull the knife upward to release the knife from the holder. I always test my knives to see how they stand up against a wooden desk. As I have said, this is a plastic knife and has a pointed spear like shape. After striking it with moderate level force more than 200 times on the tip of this knife, it held up fairly well but keep in mind that it is made of plastic which is not as strong as a metal knife. The point tip bent a little in my test but it is still good to go. As mentioned previously I really love the gun handle grip which makes for easy access and quick drawing and thrusting practice. If you are a knife enthusiast you may want to check out this Ka-Bar Shark bite knife model. Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Tanto-Jutsu: An official manual of Bushi Satori Ryu).

Good depending on your prupose
This is a fine product as long as you plan to use it for self defense. Since it's 100% made of plastic, this should not be used as a utility knife. So, it may not be the best option as an "Every Day Carry" (EDC) knife. I think this item is supposed to be used as a backup knife, "neck knife" or as a specialty knife for those odd situations when you need a blade, but don't want it detected by a metal detector. However, based on the way the knife detaches from the sheath, I don't see how this could work as a "neck knife" without using both hands. So, I'm not sure how stealthy or effective that's going to be in a lot of situations. However, if you want this for self defense and are happy to draw from your belt, then this is a good solution at a great price. It's also nice that it's light weight, easy to use and also won't get set off by a metal detector. So depending on your purpose, this could be a great knife for you.

GREAT For Piercing, Lite-Weight
I got this because I used to ride the bus to work consistently. One of my co-workers saw it one day and wanted to play with it. I warned him it wasn't a toy and he chuckled at me as I handed it to him until he drew his own blood with a slice. Designed for piercing, slices okay, probably can't even de-glove yourself given how rounded the handle is. Would recommend.

Works great for its intended purpose.
Nice and lightweight, you barely notice you're carrying it. Mine is usually in my pocket in places where it's acceptable. It wouldn't be hard to attach to a belt or, after replacing the metal chain, around your neck. Keep in mind this is basically a disposable item. You'll get one use out of this, and if you need to use the for its intended purpose, that's perfectly acceptable. Don't mistake this for a pocket knife or utility knife. It's a last-ditch defensive knife. Please check your local laws regarding possession of this item in your area.

Extremely disappointed
it’s plastic, like a jailhouse spoon ground against the concrete to make a plastic shank. I have several ka-bar knives, with metal blades of course, that I really like. I am a huge knife collector and ordered this to add to my collection. The description of the product doesn’t clearly indicate it’s plastic. It says it made of some fancy named material that I assumed was a form of metal since that’s what knives are made from. This thing is not even sharp plastic and reminds me of a child’s toy. An utter disappointment and I will be returning it for a refund immediately. I seriously doubt I will be collecting any more Ka-bar knives in the future.

This is an odd "knife" its more of a stabber than a cutter. I wouldn't want to be stopped having this on my person, it looks really deadly, but besides stabbing i don't see the purpose of have it. Its a nice addition to my collection, but it will be novelty at most. The sheath holds the knife securely and snaps out easily, the ball chain included is useless.

Good construction was disappointed that the blade was plastic. It is for decoration only.
