RUSH - 2112 IN CONCERT THE LEGENDARY RADIO BROADCAST DIGITALLY REMASTERED ON VIOLET VINYL! This is the digitally re-mastered version of Rush performing their classic 2112 suite and broadcasting live during the Permanent Waves tour. For many, this is the classic performance with the band at the pinnacle of their progressive pomp phase. Also featured are live gems from the albums Permanent Waves' and 'A Farewell To Kings' including the classic 'Spirit Of Radio ' and an astonishing live rendition of 'Xanadu'. The virtuoso trio certainly don't disappoint in the live arena and neither does the sound quality from this FM broadcast, which is superb - and the digital re-mastering takes it to another level. The band were clearly on form by this point of the tour. Definitely worth a listen for every Rush fan out there, you certainly won't be disappointed. Track Listing: Side A 1. The Spirit Of Radio 2. 2112 Part I: Overture 3. 2112 Part II: The Temples Of Syrinx 4. 2112 Part III: Discovery 5. 2112 Part IV: Presentation 6. 2112 Part V: Soliloquy 7. 2112 Part VI: Grand Finale Side B 1. Exceeds Expectations
First off some of the reviews on here said the sound quality was bad or sub par so I was pleasantly surprised at how how good this record sounds. Things the other critics may not understand THIS is a LIVE FM BROADCAST from 1980 not a STUDIO album. Considering that as a source I think it sounds great. Rush's performance was phenomenal and stayed pretty true to the original Alex uses some different effects during "Overture" which may not sound as well on the recording but I imagine in the concert hall it sounded awesome. The Inclusion of "Spirit of the Radio" and "Xanadu" are also welcome and fantastic. Rush does not miss a beat moving through their complex time signature changes expertly without missing a beat. This Album brought me back to the early 80's when FM Radio would broadcasts were a treat and I would eagerly wait with my cassette deck ready to record.

Awesome! A must have for any true Rush fan!
Awesome LP! Absolutely sounded amazing. Loved it. Some have mentioned that it has a bootleg feel and sound quality may not be the best. It is the best. I have the All the world is a stage live album and it sounds more bootleg than this LP. I highly recommend this to any true Rush fan. 😃👍🏻

Great sound.
The sound is really great. I was expecting it to have the sound quality of an old bootleg record, but it is much better than that. Great song selection too. Love it! The violet vinyl is really cool too.

Rush in their early prime!!
The quality of sound, as well as Rush being in the PRIME of their performance careers, make this VERy exciting to hear again. If you loved them in concert in the late 70’s or early 80’s, you want this album!! (The violet vinyl is just cool!)
