Regina Spektor Live On Soundstage

I was lucky enough to be at the taping of this show in Chicago and they did a great job of capturing the show's intimacy.There are no extras on the DVD but they did pack just about everything she played into the DVD and with DTS audio, the sound is great. If you're a fan of Regina, you should pick this up, but who am I kidding, it's already in your cart if you've gotten this far.If you're just getting introduced to Regina's music, it's also worth picking it up. It is heavy on the newer music, though. Her entire catalog is full of gems to be discovered, but you'll have to find those elsewhere as only the old standards are found here.

This is my very favorite of Regina’s performances that I’ve seen on screen. Not only is her performance flawless and playful, the production is as well. The orchestra is tight, the mainly blue stage lights beautifully contrast Regina’s bright red clothes & lipstick as the roller coaster song list keeps it consistently mesmerizing. There’s no other Regina Spektor, she’s in a class that she invented. Her piano playing is crazy good, her lyrics as colorful as some of the best poets. I’m already ordering two more copies for the boys and will probably order more as I wear this one out with endless replays.

An incredible show, just as magic on Blu-ray as it was in real life. If you love -- or even just like -- Regina Spektor, music, performance...buy this!FYI: The Blu-ray comes with just the film. No CD. That's only included with the DVD version. I assumed it would be included with the Blu-ray but was wrong -- should have paid a bit closer attention to the description and details!

Outstanding. A rare talent.

This is just about the performance. Caught this on Soundstage last night, or at least 56 minutes of it. Brilliant. I, too, have long wanted to see Ms. Spektor perform live. I have all of her albums. With a small orchestra, and Soundstage's usually brilliant production, I can't wait to see this on DVD or Blu with better audio/video reproducttion. But, the concert's the thing.
