It works on our cats
We put it at the entrance of a path leading to the woods to prevent cats from entering because there are wild animals inside that might harm the cats. When the cats triggered the sensors, both the sounds and lights went off, which confused them, so they turned around and walked away.Three things to takeaways:1, you can adjust the sensor's sensitivity, we used the lowest setting, and it works great for our purpose. (Very sensitive within 10 feet at the lowest setting)2, there are 5 settings for deterring different types of animals. Besides the #2 (for cats), humans can hear them clearly.3, our devices are placed about 80 feet from our house, and you can hear them from the house when they go off. (We use #1 because we want to know if cats are approaching). We have to turn it off when cats are home because it's not a pleasant sound, and it will be set off by falling leaves. We charged them in full before we installed them (so easy, just dig a proper size hole and stick it into the height you prefer). It has a solar battery, so it should last very long.

Effective but problematic battery issue
These work great, when they work. I feel like I have a full time job keeping these charged. Every 3 days, I need to plug them in again even though they sit out in the sun all day (I live in Florida). Now, after just about 6 weeks, the batteries in one of the units have died. Typical third-party Amazon product.UPDATE: I've had these just over 7 WEEKS and they are DEAD. I opened them to replace the battery and it is some weird size that I do not know how to find a replacement for. Stay away from this product.

THE solution
Disclaimer: I do not leave reviews unless I'm very happy or impressed with a product or vice versa.Problem - I had a few patches of grass in my yard that just would not grow...my landscapers came to lay down seed and fertilizer, and within minutes of them leaving the birds would immediately start eating the seed. The landscapers laid down a layer of dirt, thinking that would deter the birds from seeing/smelling the seed, but sure enough - they then began to burrow little holes, and kick up dirt ALL OVER the pool deck area. I have OCD so, I was out there a few times per day just sweeping the dirt back into the lawn...I've tried sprays, BB g*ns to scare them, scarecrows, cayenne pepper, coyote urine (yes I've done it all)Solution - I purchased two of these. I charged them both. I turned them on to the correct frequency that targets bird. I turned one of them on before walking outside, and I swear, the birds in the my yard and neighbors yard all flew away as soon as I stepped outside. I am not a scientist, and I have no idea how these work, but they do...it's super cool. These are awesome...

Do not sale China product
I prefer USA productThis sensor does not work at all. I have 2 sensors, one in the front yard and one in the back yard but the cat and Dodge all come and poo in the yard. Also it is not charged by the sun.

Mediocre performance..UNTIL
Purchased to detour across-the-street neighbors’ outdoor cat collection from spraying our vehicles, porch, outdoor kid toys (all in range/in vicinity of carport). I think it may have worked…..until they died - not enough solar power/sunlight? I don’t know. Annoying, but they have a charging port.YALL. my husband asked me, TODAY, if I heard a “loud sound, kind of like fireworks @ 0330 this morning?” Nope. Sure didn’t. I was sleeping with a sound machine over my head.DEAR LORD. Was THIS wtf was heard?! I. AM. SHOOK.These things have been inside, dead, for AT LEAST 2 months, waiting on me to notice & finally charge them. They were not wet…I even unscrewed both of the backs to see if the batteries were corroded. They were not, so I proceeded to charge them.I audibly gasped when I saw this.Buyer beware.

Not worth the $$
I received these April 26th. Very easy to install. They would go off with the wind and passing traffic. Set them as low as they could go. Seemed to work for two months. It's July now and they no longer work. There's only a 30 day warranty. Not worth the $83 I spent on them.

Temporary Deer Deterrent
These were purchased a year ago to keep deer off of my desert landscaping. The repellers seemed to work for awhile, then the deer seemed to get used to them, and ignored them. Wind chimes also worked only temporarily, my next trials will be windsocks and fishing line tied to 4 foot stakes around the yard. They may work only temporarily as well. In reading the reviews, it appeared these solar deterrents may work better for some animals more than others, such as raccoons. The deterrents' charges lasts for sometime, if they need charging, I simply put a second set of batteries in and charge the first set that will be ready for the next go around. I continue to use the repellers as they may be keeping the squirrels away.
