Before purchasing this model, I bought a higher priced, highly reviewed air purifier... and felt no difference. I thought maybe the whole air purifier movement could possibly be BS, so I returned it.... but after researching several sites/blogs, decided to give this guy a try. THIS ONE WORKS- but in a very specific setting. Here was my controlled experiment:In the CA desert, where the air is dry, no animal fur/dander in a sparkling clean house- thepurifier remained at a 1 or 2, the lowest on the "why did you buy me" spectrum- pretty much mocking me with disdain.Took it to LA to battle the smog surrounding my place. The main intent of buying this was to confront the air pollution and whatever else might be lurking in my old apartment. This is when the purifier went to WORK! The numbers varied wildly when I opened windows, turned on the A/C, or cooked in the kitchen... and after an hour, was back at base level one. Later that night, I thought I would sleep with the purifier on (the noise level is extremely quiet and soothing) but... the levels were good! It wasn't needed! I started forgetting to turn on the machine, and then later in the day realized my sinuses were starting to swell, due to pollen/dust. Bottom line, after buying this machine- my allergy medication intake is almost nonexistent since purchasing.However, I did try the machine in a basement/more damp setting and nothing registered. I thought for sure, numbers would indicate smoke or mold- nothing. It did flare up when someone cooked on the floor above, with the door open.So if your main concern is dust/pollen/pollutants- absolutely purchase this.

The media could not be loaded. Read instruction card! A plastic bag encases the filter and must be removed before first use. Read manual too ; )I'm Soooooo glad I got this air purifier!I recently restarted my keto diet and planned on adding Baked salmon, Brussel sprouts and Broccoli to my meal plan. Inside, in the oven. Those smells linger for Days and migrate upstairs!!!But before I could bake Those, I made a tbsp of popcorn in the micro, on sensor, and Burned it into a black blob, yay, less carbs! SKUNKED up the kitchen Big time!BINGO, two days after receiving this purifier I got to try it out. It cleared the smell out in less than an hour on Auto (before it lingered upstairs) (on Auto the fan speed cycles as needed until room air is filtered) Also, hours later, went to bed and forgot and left it running....it was so quiet I didn't hear it. That's where the timer woulda came in handy. Duh! Set it!It looks highend, very quiet, works Fantastic!I know no one reads manuals....the symbols on top of the machine are self explanatory. Easy to use!Measures 8-5/8" diam, 14-1/4" high, and weighs 6 pounds.Power supply is included.Great Buy! Awesome price!

I own three cats and suffer from allergies, and medication barely helps. My doctor made a few suggestions, like more frequent dusting and vacuuming and to consider an air filtration system with HEPA filtration. Looking through several different models they seemed bulky, ugly, noisy or just really expensive. Then I saw this AirExtend Purifier. It had a great overall rating, sleek look, and very reasonable price. Seemed a bit too good to be true, but I figured at that cost it was at least worth checking out. And I'm glad I did! It is fairly small so it was easy to find a place for it. I put right outside my bedroom to help reduce allergens while sleeping and reduce the morning mucous issues I was having. And it so quiet I can barely tell its on. It has a handy timer so I can set it to run for 6-8 hours while I sleep and not have to worry about shutting it off. The air quality started off in the mid 20's, and in a bit less than an hour it was down to 1. My mornings quickly involved a lot less nose blowing and coughing. This is a great purifier for this price, so much so that I bought one for my mother! Give it a try!

This air filter definitely is receptive to contaminants in the air. When someone is smoking or I'm cooking, it ramps up in response. Im not sure I notice a difference in the air quality but that may just be me. I like that it has different settings so you can have a constant fan or one that just senses when it's needed. I have had two for over a year and they still work like new.

This is a very quiet air purifier and I have recommended it to friends. I use it in my bedroom and run it every night and sometimes all day. I have done this for the past two months and it still works fine and has not had an impact on my electric bill. It does use a real HEPA filter. I like that it quantifies the amount of junk in the air. I’m not sure how accurate it is, but I appreciate it. My only complaint is that the controls on the top are not backlit. So it is difficult to see them in the dark especially because the top is black. You have to use a flashlight or have a nearby light on in order to see the options. This sort of sucks for me because I use it at night time. But I just leave it set on automatic. At least the power button is backlit all the time.Overall, this is a good air purifier and I would recommend it

I bought two of these after a year of passing viruses back and forth in our family. We’ve had them for a few months now and I like them. I took the covers off the other week to vacuum and there was SO much stuff on the filter. The part that amazed me was that in my bedroom where the dogs sleep every night, the filter was covered with dust and hair; but in my girls bedroom where the dogs are not allowed in at all and they were the ones bringing home most of the illnesses last year… their filter was worse than mine! So it definitely makes me believe it’s filtering out more than just dust in the air. Plus since getting them we have only been sick once and before it was about every 2-3 weeks someone in this family of 5 had something.

I love the automatic turn on feature. I have one in my kitchen and one in a room where we allow smoking. They turn on when needed. Perfect for the occasional need. We recently moved and it was one of the first things we unpacked. Very happy and filters last about 3-4 months for us.
