USB+HDMI Wall Plate with Mounting Bracket

Excellent product!

I used this to connect a mouse to my security DVR. I did not want to use a wireless mouse, but did not want unsightly cables running up to the DVR location. I ran the USB extension cable behind the drywall and installed this wall plate. I only wish I had found one with two USB instead of USB and HDMI. I could have run a second USB cable to the DVR to plug a memory stick into.

As advertised. Only 4 stars because does not fit standard plates you can buy at the hardware store.I decided i needed to add another side, so i went with a dual gang box and new cover. But the actual part doesnt fit. I had to modify the standard size opening for this.But if you were to use it as is, no issues

Can there really ever be enough outlets?... or access points for cables? Of course not. You will know true convenience the first time you install outlets in your ceiling. But, the wall works too :)

As a technology installer for the past decade, I have had many opportunities to evaluate products such as this. I used this HDMI/USB wall plate in a residential install, hoping for a nice clean look. This was not the case. The HDMI port worked, but did require a right angle adapter in order to provide the clearance inside a standard 2x4 wall cavity. The USB port however was a total failure. The wall plate is equipped with a female to female coupler instead of a male to female gender changer. In this configuration, the wall plate had to have a USB gender changer installed making it too deep to install into a standard 2x4 wall cavity. I'm sure this could be overcome with a USB right angle adapter, but this takes what should have been a simple install, to the level of ridiculous. Having overcome these two major design flaws, I was met with yet another challenge when the supplied screws were the wrong size for a standard electrical wall box. In my line of work, making two trips to do one job, cost money, and tarnishes reputations, this product has caused me to make that second trip. I will not use it again, nor would I recommend it..

Awesome product!! It worked great. I ran an hdmi and a usb-b from my projector thru the wall to my computer, on the other side of the room. This gave me a nice clean looking place to link to my computer. Some assembly required, but nothing difficult. Product worked like a charm.

My intent was to make this a pass-through port with 2 of these. The problem is the female adapters are pretty long, so it is impossible to place two of these back to back, let alone with a cable. Also, one of the units had a REALLY wiggly hdmi connector.Soo.. it worked, but it had some quality issues and not the solution I needed.

A great buy. Easy to use and install. It really does the trick for our entertainment room. We often swap out different streaming sticks or devices when using a projector.
