Great product that actually works.
Easy to setup and it actually works, unlike the last one of these types of device I brought from Amazon, I'm using it to power my soundbar&sub through the digital out, and my amplifier and speakers through the headphone jack, I did try the red and white aux connection to my amp but the bass was non existent and treble tinny, however I'm going to blame my ageing, don't make them like they used to 30 year old amp for that, I have 3 inputs on it, all taking the same jack (aux).. I thought 2 had died years ago and that I only had one left, however when I tried using one I thought had died, everything started working and sounding fine.Admittedly I've got to change the volume of my amp up and down manually, as well as my soundbar, but this could be the fault of that equipment aswell as my tv, the fact it works though, considering I couldn't even get the that last one to work even with just the soundbar has made my day.

Worked straight out of the packet
Perfect for what I wanted.Ordered Yesterday came today. Not the cheapest one I have seen but good quality metal box and worked.I wanted to plug in a really old but top of the range 5.1 Sub system, No advanced features on the Speaker system just a RCA and Coax Input, I dont have a Coax lead (Yet) so just using RCA but that works perfectly. The Speaker system has a remote control so I have no issues with the Volume control as the TV remote does not effect the Volume when plugged in.Only 1 improvement would be a small power switch as the LG tv I use will only output to the Arc sound and not the TV on board sound unless the power lead is pulled from the back of the box.Not that I ever want to use the TV sound again, heheOverall if it keeps working it is a 5* for me.

Sound of HDMI Split Box
I wanted to split the audio feed to another device other than what came from the HDMI feed? This I say does the job.

It doesn't magically convert audio into 5.1 dolby digital
While this is a decent product and it works, I got audio from my TV to my turtlebeach headset via toslink in and out a big problem was my TV didn't support 5.1 Digital dolby even via toslink if the source doesn't support it you won't get true 5.1 dolby dts surround, it would of been perfect if it was a hdmi plus audio extrater so I can use it with my xbox series X via hdmi to my turtle beach which does support 5.1 dolby dts surround, my Sony TV didn't support it.The reason why I reviewed it 3 was mainly the hardware it came with hdmi cable but was low quality and the quality of the hardware also silver and not gold plated. I have a thing with good quality material peripherals, for 30 quid it really should of had that, I've used better for less.My already setup audio has connected to 8 toslinks,. so I wouldn't be able to use this product to its full with say 6 gaming consoles unless my TV can support the audio quality as source. then I can use this audio for all through my TV. I though that hdmi was for in and was expecting one out for the tv so I could extract my audio from the xbox to tv with 5.1 dolby digital but thats called a HDMI audio extractor. different product that looks similar.

works fine but not with my sonos connect:amp
After probably connecting it all wrong (which quite frankly I can only explain by my little boy tormenting me when I tried to test it), I got it working absolutly fine except that the RCA output to my sonos connect:amp just drops every other second. I changed the setting of the line in sonos but only teh delay of 2sec woudl stop the problem and is then out of sync with picture on the TV. so I returned. The same happened on 2 other DAC I alos returned. the headphone output did not hve htis problem so I think the sonos combo with the sonos amp is the problem.

Excellent customer service
Based on other reviews I was confident to purchase this. I had just purchased a new LG OLED55C34LA TV and wanted to use my old music system speakers and B & W Zepplin rather than purchase a sound bar. I had used these on my old Panasonic TV that had RCA outputs - which of course the new LG didn’t have. I needed a DAC converter and chose this one. I hooked it up as per the instructions using the HDMI eArc but no sound came out. I tried everything, checked TV settings replaced HDMI cable and in desperation reached out to the supplier. They responded immediately and offered advice - but still no success so they sent me FOC replacement. I tried the new box and still nothing! So I then purchased an optical cable (Toslink) and tried that instead of the HDMI cable. Voila! It now works an absolute treat. So I still don’t know why it didn’t work using the HDMI eArc cable….maybe I never did get the settings right? But I am delighted with the product and the service from the supplier and would certainly recommend this product and if like me the HDMI doesn’t play ball try the optical cable route….just move the switch on the box to “T” and bingo a great sound system for a fraction of the cost of a sound bar!

It works fine with optical
I bought this so that I could use the rca/phono/din inputs needed for my good old analogue amp/hi-fi system with my new Sony Bravia tv. The box seems well made and substantial. I tried using the hdmi input but couldn’t get that to work (although in fairness it might have been the wrong hdmi output from the tv…..Sony instructions are worse than useless). So I tried using an optical/toslink cable from the tv into the box (remember to switch the slider switch on the box) and it worked perfectly first time, sound quality fine. So early days but seems very good so far.
