Watch the weight
It's a great product but my monitor was a little heavy for it. I kept it but had to get a stand. My next monitor won't be as heavy and I'll use it fire that one. It worked good and I recommend if it supports the weight.

Not stable enough
This is a great idea but doesn't work. The monitor is too heavy to be stable. It will need to lean on the table to hold it. I could have saved my money and just got a table stand. Don't bother ordering .

Decent Sidecar Accessory for your iPad / MacBook
I've been meaning to try SideCar (using your iPad as a second monitor for your Mac), and happened across this product. I'm using a MacBook Air and an iPad Pro 11in.Installation is fairly easy. It comes with two metal mounts in case you mess up the first time or want to use it with multiple computers, and there is a guide sheet to mount it in the correct spot on the back of your laptop monitor.I really like the swivel option. This is great for sharing screens with someone across from you, or getting an optimal viewing angle when using as a 2nd monitor for yourself.I subtracted two stars due to:1) The mount doesn't work well with the iPad 11 because the clamp hits the protruding portion of the rear lens. I'm able to mount it from the other side, but that means I can't plug the iPad in if I needed to use it for an extended period of time.2) The kickstand isn't very useful for viewing angles. The laptop hinge is not strong enough to stay in place with the weight of the iPad attached, and the kickstand causes the screen to lean far back before it touches a surface for support.

Exactly what I needed, holds my Asus monitor perfectly
I’m working on my Ph.D. and am getting ready to be a part time nomad, so needed something to get me dual screens without breaking the bank or taking up much real estate since my work computer/setup does that. I already had a small Asus monitor I use with my MacBook Pro, but the “stand” it came with is a fail; I tried multiple other options with no success. This product holds the monitor perfectly where I need it and folds up compactly when I’m done. Yes, it’s pricy, but it does the job and saves me from going crazy when I need both screens, so money well spent.

Works great, well built
I got this to use on the TOP of my laptop screen instead of on the side, so I can get a portable monitor at eye height to reduce neck strain. This works GREAT. It's well built and sturdy and has a nice magnet-based attachment system. I see now why it's not just $25 or so - it's well built and worth it. Thank you!!

Doesn't hold anywhere close to 1.5 lbs
the description says it holds up to 1.5 lbs, I purchased a brand new portable monitor at the same time to use specifically with this. it only weighs 1.1 lbs and the magnet can't hold it at all if I try to swivel the screen at all it's too heavy and falls off the laptop. Between the clamp on the side plus the monitor falling off several times before I gave up trying to use it, It damaged my new screen leaving pressure marks. It's not helpful at all. Absolutely not worth the 100 dollars (after taxes) it costs. Save your money and don't spend $100 to have this break your stuff!I will admit that I loved the idea and it seems like it has potential if you are wanting to use it for just a phone or something that weighs way less than 1 pound it might work and be functional.

Only made for small monitors
I love this concept. I have a lightweight 14' portable monitor that seemed too much for this to hold up and keep in the desired angle

Poor weight.
Too heavy for a Mac lid.
