Nikwax Hardshell Cleaning & Waterproofing Duo-Pack

I have been using Nikwax for years. the ease of the product just throw it in the front loader wash and then do it a gain and waterproof is a great feature. I have also soaked in a bucket as described for the water proofing. I work outside all winter and if i do this every month i stay nice and dry. I am also looking to try the spray on product. The smell may be a bit strong in the house but after outside for the day it is usually fine.

This totally revitalized my rain jacket! A great duo that I will certainly be purchasing again.

I've used this product a few times now. The first time I did it in my sink and it was fine but a little labor-intensive. This time around I used it in a front loading washer and it was extremely easy. My washer has all the settings that were mentioned in the directions, so people with older appliances might not be able to get the same results.At any rate, it was very satisfying to take the rain jackets out of the washer and see they were already repelling water.I had three rain jackets in the washer. I used a full cap of the product for each of the 2 stages and it worked fine even though the directions say only to use two jackets at a time.

I was just about ready to just go buy another raincoat as it was not repelling rain anymore- this product to the rescue! I did 2 raincoats and rain pants and they have held up great!!!

I bought this Nikwax duo to clean and reactivate the waterproofing on my Patagonia shells, this was bought due to the good reviews I read. This is a two step process, first you 'tech wash' the garments to clean them, then in the washer you run another cycle with the product that re-waterproofs the garments.For the wash, I followed the instructions Exactly as written, 2 garments max, and 5 oz of the Tech Wash in my front loading HE washer.Well, my front loading washer created so many suds, it threw up an error code, and went into a Two Hour suds removal cycle. We had great concern that the amount of suds had broken the washer.In addition, I called the Nikwax customer service line during this adventure, the line had no answer, and if someone ever did call back they left no messages.This company represents themselves as environmentally conscious, so I was a bit disappointed at wasting 2 hours worth of water, and lack of customer service when needed for advice.Finally the washer came out of sudsapalloza and finished. The second product which reactivates the waterproofing was not suds producing so no drama getting that done.I have had no chance to 'test' the shells in rain, but wanted to issue a caution after what happened to us following the instructions exactly. The instructions on the bottle do not differentiate between HE washers and non-HE.
