Durasole™ Sole Hardener Durasole is an iodine based preparation formulated to harden the equine exfoliation sole. The anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, fixing agent, formula is designed to thicken and toughen the equine exfoliating sole and frog. Durasole is highly concentrated, extremely effective and does not affect the proximal sensitive sole. It works by swelling and thickening the cell membranes of the exfoliating sole. A little bit goes a long way. It is ideal to alleviate sole soreness and is widely used on horses that work or perform in hostile environments and in transitioning horses from shod to barefooted. Effective in the control of Thrush and White Line Disease when aerobic conditions are established and maintained at the infection site. Recommended by Vets for thin soled or bruised feet! Durasole™ Key Benefits: thickens and hardens the sole and frog anti-bacterial anti-fungal fixing agent Durasole Instructions For Use Apply dropwise to dry sole and frog and spread with a small brush. Do not apply more than the sole and frog will absorb at one time. Repeat daily for 1 to 2 weeks until the sole is hard enough, and repeat once or twice a week for maintenance. Always wear gloves and safety lenses when applying, and do not inhale vapors. Attributes Form: Liquid Size: 4 oz Bottle

Proven product in extreme work environment
I am a sheepherder in a remote camp, year round, in some of the most extreme conditions you can imagine. I can't call a farrier. Durasole works........I am unable to do the sort of prep work described in the application guidelines. I pick my horses feet clean regularly, like 10X a day. I use a stiff bristle brush and clean the sole and frog as clean as possible. I squirt Durasole directly on the heel portion of the frog and grab an old toothbrush to spread it into the frog and sole. I also have had success loading the toothbrush up first with durasole then applying. I hold the hoof up off the ground for maybe 30 seconds. I apply it on average maybe 3 times a week now. My horse works everyday, in rocky, narrow, mountain sheep trails. His feet look great and this product, along with a hoof supplement and hoof conditioner keep him that way.

Immediate improvement in sole toughness
I have an OTTB with typical weird OTTB feet. Loses shoes like clockwork, abscesses with what seems like every time it's a touch wet on the ground, frog rots out in humidity and dew, etc. At the recommendation of a client's horse's farrier, I started using Durasole. I applied the first two applications liberally and about 48 hours apart. When I went back 2 days after the second application and picked his feet out, they were noticeably harder, his frog rot was nearly healed, and he was walking less tenderly. After two weeks of using every two to three days, his soles are no longer crumbling, his rotted frog is about 75% healed, and his couple remaining abscess outlets are visibly healed - something that normally would have taken a month for him and his feet. I am going to continue to use this product once to twice a week. Highly recommend.

Great for thin soles
I bought this at the suggestion of a friend after I decided to pull my horses shoes. He had pulled three shoes in less than a months time. He is a typical thin soled OTTB and as soon as the shoes came off he was sore. I suspect that he was also trimmed too short. I ordered the Durasole and watched the poor guy limp around for two days while I waited for it to arrive. Within 24 hours of use he went from tender footed to being able to ride again better than he had with shoes on. I am impressed, I was really concerned it would be a long uncomfortable transition process for him but so far with the help of Durasole he is doing really well. Awesome product.

Best stuff out there
I will forever love Durasole! When we got a OTTB fresh off the track they ripped her shoes straight off and took a lot of hoof with it. Since then it was off and on sound all due to soft soles and weak walls. The cracking was endless and eventually in October when the mud was at its worst she cracked her front right hoof pretty badly and ended up chunking it off.Farrier recommended Durasole (after some other products tried, nutrition and supplements addressed already).Started Durasole beginning of August and now end of December the hoof is fully healed and just finishing out her growth to be back to fully normal hoof. She’s been sound since mid August and farrier is beyond happy with her growth and the overall strength of her hoof. She’s barefoot and sound, doesn’t matter the ground.

Gets the job done every time!
Incredible stuff. Very potent and really gets rid of thrush quickly. My horse was standing ankle deep in mud for two weeks and his feet were practically rotting off. Consistent use of Durasole has hardened his feet back up and also gotten rid of the thrush that was brewing in his frogs. Very happy with the results!Warning: Do NOT get this anywhere near your face/nose/mouth. I was holding the cap in my teeth while I held his hoof up and a drop got on my lip. I thought my entire mouth was going to melt off. Be careful and keep away from small children!

tender footed horse can now walk on the rocks without stumbling like a human walking barefoot across hot coals
This stuff worked really well. My soft soled, tender footed horse can now walk on the rocks without stumbling like a human walking barefoot across hot coals! Great product!

Works very well for donkeys
I have 17 donkeys and 5 horses. Donkeys are desert animals and their feet don't do so well in the south's humidity......even with giving California Trace minerals. It's a constant battle. This works very well for thrush and wld. I was using some yesterday and it leaked through my trimming gloves. I couldn't get it washed off right away and it caused deep cracks in my skin. Very painful. I just ordered nitrile industrial gloves. I'm extremely disappointed in the price.....it has increased by over $5. I will be looking elsewhere now.

Worked pretty good, mild disinfectant
Good stuff. Had a horse with gravel stuck in soft heels that were slightly infected. Painted it on daily according to vet (keratex hoof hardener was too strong and burned his heels) and put balmex on top. It ate out the infection and has allowed him to grow in good heels. Also good for white line disease and thrush. But serious hoof sensitivity and fungus paint on keratex hoof hardener which is twice the price but much stronger
