Colonial Boston 20-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 4, Silver

To replace many pieces of mixed/matched economy Oneida flatware that have served me well for 15 years, I bought a 20 piece setting of the Oneida's Boston Colonial flatware, as well as, a 20 piece setting of the Paul Revere flatware. The two designs look very similar but the Paul Revere costs 3 to 4 times more. Both designs are plain and understated but of high quality and the difference between the two is minimal. The Boston Colonial pieces have more areas of a shiny finish, while the Paul Revere flatware appears to be a very slightly heavier weight. Both are 18/8 stainless, look great, and fit nicely in Oneida's stylish acryllic flatware caddy. They will serve you well for both casual and formal dining and go with just about any kind of dishware. The only reason that I can think of for the for the price difference between the two patterns is that the Paul Revere line is classified by Oneida as one of its Lifetime patterns. Bottom line -- buy the Boston Colonial from Amazon.com ASAP because I believe that Oneida now produces its latest version of Boston Colonial (shown on Oneida's website) in lower quality 18/0 stainless.

We have three boys and our forks and spoons seems to disappear. These were on sale. They are great quality. Weight and balance are perfect modern clean look and comfortable to use.

Good basic set. Shiny, dishwasher safe.

This good quality set matches well but not perfectly with my old set of Paul Revere everyday stainless. So nice to have knives again—I was down to four.

I purchase Onieda flatware in the 80's and my pattern is no longer available. Some has been lost through the years, so wanted a pattern close to my original. This works very nicely

I purchased this exact same set of Oneida Boston flatware set 20 years ago. The pattern is a little different, it has a heavier grooves along the edges of the handles. You can also tell a difference in the feel of the utensils compared to the older set and most drastic difference is with the forks. The tines side edges of the forks are kinda sharp. If you were purchasing these as a stand alone set you would probably be happier.

We bought this pattern of Oneida flatware many years ago. Over time a few pieces have disappeared leaving us short on place settings when we have a group over for dinner. I was thrilled to find the same pattern available on Amazon. In comparing the new with the ones we already had, they have changed the flatware a little, didn't feel or look 100% the same but was close enough no one would notice but me. My order arrived quickly and is washed and ready to go company that comes this weekend. Amazon to the rescue once again!

I grew up with Oneida Colonial Independence flatware in my parents home, and these are so similar but a little more modern. The two types look related, haha. It's a joy to have something so familiar, but unique to my home. My parents are happy to hear I got these, and even sent me a couple sets of the Oneida I grew up with to tie all of it together sentimentally.
