These micro cut shredder lubricant sheets are a bargain. They work well. The sheet set I ran out of had cost more but these function as well. I understand that they have a light coating of vegetable oil between the inner and outer sheets.While you could spread vegetable oil along the width of a sheet of paper and run it through your shredder, it would be difficult to control the amount of oil across the sheet.These Amazon Basics sheets cost just 55 cents each and use a precise amount of oil to prevent gumming up your shredder blades. At that price and as seldom as it's needed, why bother with a bottle of oil?The instructions say to run the shredder in reverse for a few seconds after feeding the lubricant sheet completely through. I've never heard of doing that, but I suppose it would help spread the oil a bit.I'm happy enough with these to keep buying them.

The product is easy to use. In fact it rescued a smaller Shredder which the owner was ready to send back to the store. She had her machine running hot and it would not shred any more. We simply picked the shredder's teeth clean with a tweezer; ran one lubricant sheet through the shredder blades and made her day with no more problems.

The oil inside the sheets seemed to be a bit thicker than ones I had used prior, but they seemed to work ok.

Its shredder lubricant. Not much to say. It works and helps keep your shredder sharp and moving easily. No need to burn out your motor early and have to buy a full new shredder when you can take care of it cheaply and easily ..like me! :)
