A solid medium roast.
This is really good coffee. First of all, the beans are evenly roasted and at the right level, and look and smell fresh. I generally make this coffee with a French press, and while it's not exactly bold, it's well defined with distinct flavors. The coffee is not particularly acidic, and for me has a somewhat minerally taste, along with faint notes of chocolate and a slight nuttiness.Now that I know I like it, I'll definitely order two pounds next time as it's a much better deal. Definitely recommended.

Best coffee.... and I don't throw that around loosely! SEE UPDATE 8/2020
I'm a grind-your-own fussy coffee drinker. I'd rather come home and make my own than drink pour overs or any chain coffee that is more than 5 minutes old. This is the best low acidity coffee I've had, even compared to all the ones "recommended" on searches. UPDATE 2020: The last MULTIPLE orders have been screwed up - wrong variety sent, bags broken, expired bags, order not sent AT ALL, taking weeks to get here. Even tried ordering directly from company and the box (and bag of coffee inside) was torn when it got here. Crying "uncle," I am switching brands :(

We are always in search of the perfect cup of coffee, and try many different whole bean roasts. This was definitely one of my favorites. Full bodied and rich. Great Find. LOVE the resealable bag!

Good, fresh, full coffee berry flavor - well balanced - not too sharp or acidic. delicious.It comes in impressive sturdy ziplock packaging, so it's easy to handle and store.

This coffee was just "ok" to me. This is my least favorite of the Blackwelder coffees I've tried. The roast was way too light for me, which I didn't feel was properly conveyed in the description. Also, there was A LOT of chaff in the ground coffee, which I've never experienced before with this brand. This was probably because of the light roast, so the chaff didn't have a chance to burn off. I'm gonna go back to a medium or darker roast after this.
