Worked well for replacing a dying hard drive in an industrial machine
A job called me to work on a metal bending machine and this thing may be generic -- but that's exactly what is needed in these situations. Because it's just a passive IDE converter device, my 4GB CF card showed up just like the hard drive did and got the machine up and running again. The PC board was using ISA slots. The CPU was a 500mhz x86 chip just to run DOS and talk to other ISA cards. It worked first try using the floppy power connector on the board and I was able to clone a partition to my CF card and boot from it, even being FAT16! Go figure

Works with 486-era PCs.
This adapter did work with my 486DX4 system and a 1Gb CF card, but I wasn't able to get much actual use out of it because the system has trouble with IDE disks in general.

So far so good
So far, so good. Installed into an Emachines 667IR to replace a 15 GB HDD that was on its last leg. Solder work looks fine on my unit.

No eject button
Now maybe its me. My retro game machine i use multiple CF cards. So that is why I miss the ejuct button. It works. The Led can't be seen. It would be nice to have pins to add led to front panel. The card does have male IDE connection. I would recommend this seller and item.

Installed immediately upon receipt. Use it for testing. install and remove the CF card several times a day. Always inserts and exits smoothly.

First one was good second not working
I bought one of these before and it worked fine. poor solder joints but didn't think much of it until....... The second one I bought had poor solder joints and failed to work with the same system. Not buying this cheapo cf to ide adaptors like this one in the future. You get what you pay for :(
