Excellent photos and good intro to insects for 2 year old
This book is pretty good, and it is worth the price. It has beautiful photographs and definitely captures my 2 year old's attention. I would buy it again. The "downsides" of this book (for me) are that it doesn't have a lot of basic or general information about bugs, instead, it has specific information about ~50 bugs, from A to Z, exactly as it says in the title. Also, maybe it is just me, but I was a little annoyed that, e.g., "B" is butterfly, but O, P, Q and X are also exclusively butterflies. This occurs with a couple of insects, e.g., D for Dragonfly and E for Emperor Dragonfly. So, for a 2 year old, it is great, and I would recommend it. But if you have a kid who is 5 and interested in insects, this is probably too basic.

Wonderful book
The colorful photos of the various bugs brought an engaging introduction to world of insects. This can be used as a reference book of insects as well as a reinforcement of the alphabet.

Fascinating book!
Cute book! It's a good size for younger kids and is fairly sturdy for being a paperback. The pages are bright and colorful and feature fun insects with lots of variety and fascinating things to keep kids interested for a long time. Bought this for my two year old for a long car trip (along with Fun Express Insect Finger Puppets 12ct Toy and Darice 1029-03 16-Piece Plastic Insects, 2-Inch and he had so much fun matching up the insects in the sets with the insects in the book ("Look, mommy - they're the SAME!") The only thing that puzzles me is why there is what appears to be a lizard or chameleon tail coming out of the "Z" on the cover... but I'm willing to look past that because nobody's really that nitpicky and it's a good book.

Great learning tool for bug lovers!
Bought this for my son who is obsessed with bugs and he LOVES it! We read at least a few pages everyday and my son's bug knowledge is growing. He remembers the "fun facts" on each page for the different bugs and it's also helping him learn the alphabet in a fun way. He shares his bug facts with anyone who will listen and when they question him, he pulls out this book and shows them!

What's in a name?
My kids on my class loved it. Had a fun activity to name a bug that started with your first letter of their name. Each child had a different bug.

Fine Quality, studying bugs was never this interesting to kids

I completely understand that it’s quite hard to find butterflies that covers every single letter, but it became hard to read and explain to a child why there were so many variations of the same thing. There were at least EIGHT types of butterflies covered. I wouldn’t recommend this book to any child less than six who may not understand the concept, or even an older child who may find the explanations too bare (and hardly enough info to identify these outside) I gave two stars as I see an effort to make the facts interesting, but I guess it just wasn’t what I was expecting!
