Fun. You know you want it. Get it.
Kills the hell out of the lantern flies. The only down side is the is cost. However, it does not feel cheap. It is heavy and it feels like an air pistol as opposed to a toy. It feels expensive and well made. It is vastly more effective than the normal salt gun. Zero regrets. Fun as can be. Like Dirty Harry blasting the stupid lantern flies.

Better then it's smaller brother
This is truly the best thing for having a bug free life. I do have the pump action one from the same company, but it has its limitations to small bugs only. This thing on the other hand is a beast. I have been using it for lantern flys and they are sneaky little things. They see you, they move around the branch and if u try to kill them by hand they jump. Hard to kill something that sneaky. With this beast they dont even have a chance to move or jump. It's, boom and ethernal sleep is the result for those things. This thing will also kill large bugs too, like cahroaches who have thick outer shells. If you are sensitive to things getting dismembered this is not the product for you. Only con I have for this beast and savior is that either the salt or the gas rusts down the internal metal components and had to disassemble and clean it twice now. It is expensive for a bug gun but I realized that it's exactly the same as my crossman ccp8b2 and a lot less expensive. I can still use the salt cartridges from this company with no issues with the corssman. If you live in the city like i do, get this bug gun vs the crossman, only because you dont want people calling the police on you for firing a gun in the back yard because they dont know what it is. This gun is yellow and the crossman is black and looks like a real gun from far away. There is no other product like this. Ps it is great for those pesky big house flys, no more ruined newspapers.

Best Salt Gun
Of all the items sold, for me this is the best! I have two rifles but the Shreder is absolutely outstanding! It has so mucl power and yes it will kill a cockroach. I'm in my mid-60s and we have large 100% organic chickens a large coop and runs. We let the girls free range daily and they leave poop on the way z a great way to feed them aswell. This is the most powerful and fun salt gun! The power, wow, it z girls will stop and. Ear as many as they can find on the way home..this gun is more fun and definitely more powerful. (I can shoot a swarm of flies on a piece on a piece of crap) From a distance and get them its so powerful. Other brands are out there, but these two guys are a smaller startup company with great reviews. Its more expensive the the rifles, but I love the pistol, its hard to miss, Pest control: No problems indoors, impossible to miss!! Why did you pick this product vs others?: Reliability, reviews, word of mouth

Wood Bees Don't Stand a Chance!
Here in East TN, we have a serious issue with Wood Bees and Red Wasps. They are everywhere and will not hesitate to buzz your head. It is very satisfying to knock a Wood Bee straight out of the air 2 feet away with one blast of the Bug-A-Salt Shred-er! The red wasps are harder to hit and are a little more resistant to the salt blast. That being said, the CO2 Pistol Shred-er is an order of magnitude more effective against thick exoskeleton insects. My brother is an entomologist, and I sent him one for his birthday, he hasn't stopped smiling.

TOTAL GIMMICK DOESNT EVEN INJURE A WASP
It most DEFINITELY DOES NOT even kill a wasp, let alone if it can't even hinder a friggin wasp it's DEFINITELY not killing any scorpion or cockroach like they advertise. Honestly I'm very pissed off for the amount of money it costed me should've just bought a c02 bb gun, their cartridges r a flat out gimmick rip off they're making u pay 💨15$ i believe it is?💣 For LESS THAN A TEASPOON OF SALT💥! That's literally in the revolver packs taped in by a film strip. What an absolute infuriating gimmick, and the fact it doesnt even hurt a 🐝wasp! Just pisses me off ill be returning this pos. I was expecting a strong product, but got some weak d1ck salt shaker🫙. If ur looking to kill ACTUAL BUGS THAT R DISGUSTING AND INTRUDE ON UR PERSONAL SPACE, THIS AINT IT.😤😡💩🤡the owners of this company blew it on this 1. I want them to personally pay me back for false advertising I can't stand companies that just lie straight to ur face and know it. Nothing more low and irritating than a jack 🫏🍑 il do a video proving my point on my next post update

You’re Gonna Shoot Your Eye Out! 😜
I held off on providing a review until I had a warranty claim resolved. Here are my thoughts on this device: Purpose for buying: I bought this gun at the end of May to deal with carpenter bees that were in and around about 500’ of split rail fencing I was replacing. Instead of using an old tennis racket, I thought this would be an easier way of dealing with these pests. I did not start using the gun until late June. Features: It holds 10 rounds in a removable clip. The gun is powered by a 12 gram CO2 cartridge. It isn’t designed to be a rapid fire but you can use it in single or dual action modes. Pros: It is pretty effective at taking out anything within 2 feet of the gun. I found it extremely effective at taking out slugs. Slugs and salt don’t get along and this made for an easy way to kill them off. It is also pretty easy to aim and use. Cons: Unfortunately within a week of starting to use it, it developed an internal leak. I submitted a warranty claim which they responded to in a day. It took another few days before they said they wanted the gun back for evaluation. They did send me via email a prepaid Fed-Ex shipper. The level of service they paid for was probably the slowest Fed-Ex offers. It took over a week to go from the east coast to the west coast. After a few days of evaluating, they indicated they were replacing the gun. Again, it took a week to arrive. I think the warranty claim process is done this way because of the size of their company. If it failed within the 30 days Amazon provides, I would have had it replaced a lot faster. All this being said, they did stand behind their product and did the right thing to replace it. Another con about this gun is the total cost. It is basically a Crossman pistol all dressed up in bright orange and yellow. The Crossman steel barrel was replaced with a plastic one due to the fact you are putting salt through it. I also really don’t like the cylinder tightening knob is under the grip handles. One thing you should understand buying this gun is to make sure you use a lubricating fluid. Something like what is sold for AirSoft guns. The CO2 will dry out the rubber seals and lubricating it will help extend the life of the seals. Overall, the gun is fun to use. A bit pricey but hey, you only live once…

Fun with a purpose
Super fun to sit out on the deck and blast the wasps. Kills the about 4 feet away with a fresh co2. Good for inside to, it doesn’t damage walls or windows, and you don’t have to use chemicals.

Easy to have to waste a lot of CO2 canisters...
This is an updated review, but I have left my initial review at the bottom, after this one. Anyway, I'm just revising this to share what I have learned since I got this, that I did not realize when I initially ordered it. According to the information provided by Bug-A-Salt, with the 5 canisters of CO2 that come with this gun, you should get about 240 shots out of them. And so, if we take 240 shots and divide that by 5, then we can say that one CO2 canister should give us roughly 48 shots or so. Ok, so that's great, right? Well, that depends I suppose. The instructions say NOT to leave a CO2 canister in the gun if it's not going to be used for a while. Then they go on to say NOT to leave a CO2 canister in the gun for more than 24 hours. And THEN, they say that when you go to remove a CO2 canister to slowly turn the piercing wing counter-clockwise to release any remaining CO2. So if you were wondering if you could take a CO2 canister out of the gun while it's not in use and then reuse it later? Well, that answers that doesn't it? So basically, if a big horsefly gets in one day, or one night you want to use this on a big roach that's gotten in, and that's all you'll wind up using it for that time? Then you'll have to use a whole CO2 canister for just a few shots... Something else worth mentioning, if you want to make sure your Bug-A-Salt Shred-er is going to last, is something else I learned from the instructions that I did not know when I got this gun. Under "Maintenance," they say to put 1 drop of silicone based oil on the tip of every CO2 cartridge. So if you are a newbie to something like this like I was, chances are that you don't have any silicone based oil on hand. And if you're getting ready to purchase this or have already purchased it, you might want to consider getting some. Anyway, with all of that being said, I still love the Bug-A-Salt Shred-er, as well as the company that makes it. And I realize that this problem of easily wasting CO2 canisters is not their fault, and is really more of a universal problem for anything that uses CO2 canisters. (Initial Review) I love this brand! There products are always of high quality and their advertising is always hilarious. This thing is a bit of a change for them though because it is pretty serious. I would recommend that only people who are capable of exercising self discipline should use this Bug-A-Salt gun. The instructions give a good idea of how powerful it is too. Because they say that if you shoot an ordinary fly with it from about 3 feet or less, then there won't be an intact, whole fly body to dispose of like with the other Bug-A-Salt guns, lol. Anyway, it's quite easy to tell that this Bug-A-Salt gun is built to last. Some of the parts are made of plastic but the parts that are the most important are made of metal. It's also really easy use it, as well as learning how to use it. So I'm glad that it has a safety switch. And one other thing. To anyone wondering if the laser sight that fits on all of the other Bug-A-Salt guns fits on this one? Yes, it is also compatible with this gun- The super duper mega awesome Bug-A-Salt Shred-Errrrrrrr!!
