Perfect! This is just what I needed. These however to bend a little and you’ll have to bend them back. My suggestion is to try to snap off safety caps fast! Not sure how long this will last, but it’s good for now.

Every home should have one of these. It is used to remove childproof tops. Just hook it over the childproof top and press down to lever the childproof top off of the regular top that is underneath the childproof top. It works on almost anything. If the container is a small bottle (pill bottle) with soft plastic sides, the sides of the bottle will collapse because the opener is too sturdy. This is a sturdy, very well designed opener that is well built and high quality. Using this opener is safer than taking the top off of the bottle and then removing the childproof portion of the top with a knife, fork prong, scissors, icepick, etc. After childproof top is removed, you are left with an easy to remove cap.

The tool's prying head has a stiffener ridge that keeps it from bending. But that ridge stops at the handle and consequently the handle bends easily. If the manufacturer had extended that stiffener all the way down the handle, it would have been a good tool. I can't imagine that they saved much, if any, money by not extending the stiffener ridge the length of the handle.

The local CVS pharmacist used one of these for another person's child-proof pill vials. I watched and was amazed. Never knew these tools existed. So as soon as I got home, I ordered one. I used it on 5 vials and one cough syrup bottle. Removing the vials' outer closure was not so easy because there is little or no space between it and the inner closure. However I quickly learned the procedure and removed all 5 vial closures without breaking anything or bending the tool. I also removed the outer closure from a bottle of cough syrup but will not do so again. For some reason, doing this results in the the inner closure no longer forming a liquid-tight seal. But it works so well on pill vials that my only regret is not knowing about this simple tool years ago.

Only works for big caps, not small ones.

Does the trick but the metal isn't study enough. It bends if you try to decap some of the thicker caps. As a pharmacist in a super busy pharmacy, this isn't an industrial grade tool. Would be fine for occasional use, but I wouldn't recommend it for a pharmacy. I use it only for decapping liquids that my study decapper can't reach.

I use this to convert childproof caps into regular twist off caps on my over the counter medications. I have small hands so I have a hard time opening them. I am a 31 year old man living in a child-free, pet-free home so I don't need childproof caps. It has held up well over the last year or so on every childproof cap I come across, even on the small ones on the cleaning solvent for my guns.
