Liquified
I've purchased this a couple of times through Amazon and have been happy. This time, however, the cleansing balm turned to liquid with a ball of harder product in the middle. It doesn't smell bad and it didn't leak out of the container so I'm going to use this one up but I won't be repurchasing. I threw the scooper away because i just dip my fingers into it. Also, it hasn't been warm or summer here.

NOT A PERFECT MATCHA FOR ME ~ LOTS OF CHEMICALS + SKIN IRRITATION FROM BAMBOO, LOTUS, SCENT
**3 STARS ~~ CHEMICAL PRIMARY INGREDIENTS, & IRRITATING FRAGRANCE/BOTANICALS**Physicians Formula is such a recognizable and inexpensive drugstore brand -- not one that I use, but am familiar enough with it to try their I LOVE MY SKIN SO MATCHA duo of a melting cleansing balm and spray-on toner. The word "matcha" stands for the matcha tea ingredient and as a play on the word "match." Hopefully a good one between the consumer and the product. Unfortunately, I overlooked other ingredients like bamboo shoot water, lotus, and fragrance -- any or all could have caused an allergic reaction. The balm seemed great before applying the toner, but that quick reaction really slapped me in the face. The 3-in-1 balm worked well, and I'm particularly fond of such balms -- sort of a gelatinous, Crisco-like texture that melts on the face and washes off cleanly to reveal specific results. My skin was taut, refined and ultra smooth. That's not surprising for a drugstore brand. They often do skincare quite well at affordable prices. So, I was anxious for the next step of the spray-on toner, but wasn't expecting my face to look and feel like it was instantly on fire with a red rash. The toner downfall for me was the botanicals and fragrance, and I couldn't be sadder because I liked everything else about the duo, even the feel and finish of the toner on my face before it turned splotchy red. I won't go into my usual intensive ingredient breakdown, but suffice it to say "kudos" if this duo works well without any irritation because botanicals and fragrance can be an issue for anyone. This brand is not known for being expensive or provide breakout or standout beauty products. It does have a reputation for being kinder and gentler to the skin and us sensitive girls (hence the brand name), so this formula left me stunned. The other thing is that the ingredient list isn't spectacular in any way, other than the magic that might legitimately come from lotus, matcha tea and bamboo water, but I doubt it. All the usual suspects of chemicals found in countless skincare products are in the ingredient list, so there's nothing earthshaking, noteworthy, or different (other than the 2 irritating ingredients which aren't even top ingredients) about expected results. There are some decent, as well as less undesirable, chemicals and the Top ingredients contain only one natural, non-chemical ingredient of matcha tea and that's only in the toner. The rest of the top ingredients are WATER, CHEMICALS, AND PERFUME (irritating all by itself), so don't imagine incredible results where there aren't any ingredients to back it up. The better, best, or hyped ingredients are at the bottom, which makes them secondary, not primary ingredients, and in less concentration and effect, but still enough to be irritating. More marketing hype.I thought this would be a simple duo with ordinary, but worthwhile, skincare ingredients that would appeal to sensitive skin, but it was nothing but irritating. I'd keep the cleansing balm and give away the toner, but I hate to break up the set so I'll give it away to someone who can use both products together. Can't recommend for ingredients and skin sensitivity reasons.

This is an older set
This is an older set and had signs of being melted. I gave it a go anyway since I've used this product and know how it works. So far, so good...just be mindful that this particular box set is getting close to expiration.

White and clean skin
The Physicians formula matcha cleaning kit has a 3 in1 matcha beauty water and a 3 in 1 melting cleaning balm. I like the beauty water( toner) very much, althoughit it is a suspension solution when received because the weather is cold, but after shaking it evenly, it is become a light green liquid with a light matcha fragrance. The toner is very light and absorbs quickly, the skin is quickly hydrated and a little whiter. The cleaning balm comes with a small spoon, but the spoon is too small, but it could keep the cream clean. The cleansing balm does not contain alcohol and is very mild. After massaging, use water to rinse or wipe with a damp towel.Package: 5starsMoisturizing: 5 starsNo greasy:5 starsComfort/ no allergies: 5 starsPerfume: Light macha scentINGREDIENTS : CETYL ETHYLHEXANOATE, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, SORBETH-30 TETRAOLEATE, PEG-5 GLYCERYLTRIISOSTEARATE, PEG-10 ISOSTEARATE, POLYETHYLENE, FRAGRANCE/PARFUM, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF POWDER*, PHYLLOSTACHYS EDULISSHOOT WATER", NELUMBO NUCIFERA FLOWER EXTRACT***, CITRUS NOBILIS (MANDARIN ORANGE) PEEL OIL, WATER/EAU, PHENOXYETHANOL,SORBITAN SESQUIOLEATE, POLYGLYCERYL-10 OLEATE, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, LACTIC ACID, SODIUM BENZOATE, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, POTASSIUMSORBATE, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, HEXYLENE GLYCOL, MALTODEXTRIN, YELLOW 5 (CI 19140), BLUE 1 (CI 42090). SCAM! FAKE PRODUCT
Fake. I love Physicians Formula Perfect Matcha but this is not it. The balm was not a balm. More like a few bits of balm diluted with mineral oil. The toner was harsh and upset my skin unlike the real toner. I thought I was getting a deal on a pair of products I love. Instead it cost me much more in dark visits when my face broke out and buying Rx's to correct the damage the fake products did to my face.
