A most compelling vision
"Building a Multiethnic Church" is one of the most heartening, disturbing, moving and compelling visions of the church I've ever read. I especially appreciate the biblical basis established in the first part of the book (although as one who deeply appreciates the so-called "new perspective on Paul," I think a lot could be added to the chapter on Ephesians, but for the purposes of this book, it's probably wiser to keep it simple).I'm writing from a Danish context where the challenge to "go multi-ethnic" is as difficult as it is thoroughly needed. We are in a much earlier phase than the US of becoming diverse as a nation, so the cultural narrowmindedness and (more or less) dormant racism is much more pronounced here than anything I've encountered in the US. This book was very stimulating and encouraging and convinced me, there is hope. There has to be (the alternative is unimaginably horrible)!
