Perfect Bluetooth MIDI fix for iPad 9th Gen & Donner DDP-80
If you own a Donner DDP-80 and use an iPad (9th Generation) for lessons like Piano Marvel, this is the solution you need. We switched to this because the iPad 9th Gen only has one port; using this Bluetooth adapter allows us to connect the piano and charge the iPad at the same time. The Highlights: Zero Latency: I was worried about a delay between hitting a key and the iPad registering it, but the response is instant. There is no noticeable lag. Visual Feedback: A blue light on the WIDI flashes with every keystroke, confirming the signal is active. Cleaner Setup: It removes the bulky USB cable between the piano and tablet. Children broke a few of these... The Trade-offs: Price: A bit pricey for an adapter. Power: It requires its own separate power cable to stay active. Note: This is an honest review based on my personal experience; I am not affiliated with the company and this is not a paid advertisement. Quick Setup Guide: App First: Download the CME WIDI app. Pairing: Hold the small button on the side of the device to connect via Bluetooth. Firmware: Use the app to run the firmware updates. Important: There are two separate updates to complete! Launch Lessons (App): Open Piano Marvel. It detects the device automatically and works perfectly. It’s an investment, but it’s the best way to keep the iPad charged during long practice sessions on the DDP-80.

Take the time to tinker with it.
Solved my issue running koala on Android. I was using USB cable then otg adapter. I kept freezing up. With the widi I was able to play longer without any hiccups after all troubleshooting. After pairing if it didn't work I would try again until it gets a stable BT connection. Very happy. My midi controller no longer collecting dust. I was really tempted to buy a new BT midi controller already built in, but nah. Why when already have MPC style pads with reputable quality by the best in pads? Or risk buying crappy pads with weak response? The widi in return saved me money. Yup. I highly recommend for USB midi controllers. Type C connection on uHost is so convenient. I'm still undecided on where to place my included sticky magnet.

Great. But WIDI uHost is a no workin launchpad X or launchpad mini
Works great with my Roland, Worlde, m-audio, and Korg midi controllers. But will not pass midi from my Novation X launchpad or will not pass midi from my novation launchpad mini mk3. So sad. that is why I bought it. I did return it. It is working so great with my other controllers though. Also uhost will not let the apc mini work as a control surface… if it did any of these things it would be a killer product, especially if it worked the newest Novation Launchpad series.

Incredible device. Incredible support.
I was trying to connect my Roland FR-4x accordion to a Roland BK-7m backing unit and a Roland FC-300 foot controller. The FR-4x has only one MIDI port that can be configured either as MIDI-in or MIDI-out. Fortunately, the FR-4x has a USB B port that can serve as both MIDI-in and MIDI-out. The CME WIDI Uhost is appropriate for the task. The power support for the WIDI Uhost can be taken from the USB A port (for memory stick) in the FR-4x. My first attempt did not work because the USB B to USB C cable with right angle connectors ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C7ZQWPK9?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 ) did not work. I guess because it is not "OTG." I then ordered the right angle USB C to USB B adapter ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G1J1F68Z?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 ) and 1 ft. USB C to USB C cable ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09Z6J21LY?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 ). Together, they work perfectly. During the time I tried to set this up, I contacted CME Tech Support and received incredible support from Zhao (CEO of CME). He offered extra help and was with me every step of the way until I found out the problem was the cable. All of my email messages got replied within hours. I currently have 8 units of CME Master and 1 unit of CME WIDI Uhost. They are all great. Thank you, CME.

Avoid if you're using Windows 10 or 11
This simply doesn't work on Windows 10 or 11. I installed the drivers as the documentation says, connected to the Bluetooth device, updated the firmware, installed the Windows drivers, set the device to be in peripheral mode after updating the firmware, rebooted, and tried several other methods. However, Cakewalk Bandcamp does not list this as a valid MIDI device. The steps to get this set up and working on Windows 10 or 11 seem convoluted. It's really not worth your time.

Works exactly as described!
I ordered one of the CME Uhost devices to use with a guitar amplifier. It was easy to install and set up. It works very well and connects quickly or maintains the connection without any issues. I can definitely recommend the Uhost for this type of application.

Cable mess reduced, connection very well
I got the Widi Uhost because one of my devices (Akso board) other than my other synths, samplers doesn‘t have 5pin DIN Midi. It connects very well with the WIDI masters on these machines. I‘m a big fan of the whole CME bluetooth midi series. Even though I haven’t done done any tests concerning distance, I can clearly recommend the whole CME bluetooth midi series. They are quick to connect, setup as a group via iPhone, iPad (don’t know about other phones or tablets) and no audible latency is encountered. Only one thing to keep in mind: I have to make sure my iPhone pland iPads bluetooth is off. Otherwise the Midi devices won’t connect.

This device works really well, it’s easy to connect with a computer or iPad. I believe it can also be connected to android tablets. You do need to purchase wires, unless you already have some shown in picture and I bought a small battery pack that just lasts forever running this small gadget Works really well for me when creating music on the go. No latency at all, as far as I can tell so very pleased. The only thing I would say is, it’s a bit pricey.
