She was about five months old when we got her from a rescue agency and was good about not barking for the first couple of months
We have a German Shepherd puppy and a large fenced area approx. 2 acres which is surrounded by a fence which parallels our private road. She was about five months old when we got her from a rescue agency and was good about not barking for the first couple of months. She was very timid and afraid when we got her, but within a few months she became outgoing and less afraid. As a matter of fact, she found out how much fun it was to run along the fence and BARK BARK BARK at the cars when they went by. Of course it didn't help that some of the people going by let their dogs hang out the windows and BARK BARK BARK. We tried everything the trainers suggested: divert her attention to a toy, don't yell, it just encourages her because she thinks you're in trouble, tell her not to bark and give her a treat, etc. NOTHING worked. We were told to try a citronella no-bark collar, but talked to several people who said they don't work. We did not want a shock collar!!! We were so afraid she would get frightened and go back into her shell. HOWEVER, the barking was driving us nuts and we tried the Good Girl collar. This is no exaggeration, but two days after putting it on her, she didn't bark at anything that went by. At first she ignored the beeping and got a vibration (I prefer to call it that!) and it didn't seem to hurt her at all. She just gave a little yip and ran to us as if she was confused as to what had happened. She didn't associate it with us. After four days, she occasionally barked once or twice and when she heard the beeping, she stopped. After five days, she didn't bark when the cars went by but she ran along the fence. After one week, she doesn't even bother to go down to the fence for her chase and bark craziness. This has been a long review, but I want to tell you how easy and fast and humane and effective this collar has been. I would give it more than five stars if I could.

In a perfect world I wouldn't just leave her alone with the ...
At first I thought this was working great- I have to leave for work at 4:00am and leave my pug in the backyard, where she would bark at everything, and for a couple days this seemed to stop that. When I come home and watch her with the collar on though, she still barks at everything and the collar only beeps every 12 barks or so. I thought maybe the batteries were low or something, until I found out what they really do when they're low! I came home one day and the collar was beeping every 5 seconds as some kind of "low battery alert" and she was going crazy! It had definitely been going on for a couple hours too. In a perfect world I wouldn't just leave her alone with the collar on that long, but her early-morning barking left me no alternative, and I didn't know it would become a torture device when the batteries were going out. I replaced the batteries and it stopped doing this, but I'll be replacing the collar as well. Doesn't work even half the time anyway.

Works for our dog but picks up another dog’s bark.
We've had this for 5 days now, so far it works. Our dog is a very loud continuous barker who will do that for hours if she sees fit, but now she hasn't barked like that in days. She would bark occasionally but once she hears the beeping sound she will quiet down. Works well for us to cut down on unnecessary barking.***UPDATE***My dog responded well to the collar, she’s learned that when she barks (even though the collar isn’t on), she’ll stop barking once she’s told no. The only downside I’ve noticed is that if another dog in the same room barks really loud, the collar would pick it up and beeps which means it is picking up the other dog’s bark which would not work well if you have multiple dogs in the same room especially if the vibration goes off.

Actually worked... THE VERY FIRST TIME!
I was surprised this worked so well. While I will say the product pamphlet was so small (and the writing) you practically need a magnifying glass to read it, if you go on YouTube there are videos to explain MOST THINGS. When it comes to the settings, YouTube will show you how to set them, but (as far as I could find) nowhere that showed what each setting did. I suggest you refer back to the photo on this Amazon Listing. I do fault the company for their lack of information on their website about how the product works (as that's where I went to before I went to YouTube. They also don't list any contact phone number, for questions, however they did respond very quickly (within 24-hours) to my email. On their website (as I told them) they have 5-videos but every video is the same exact video and doesn't show how to work the product, just why you need the product.Aside from all that, this product worked marvelously! After watching the YouTube video's and using common sense (and a magnifying glass) I warned my dog, showed her the item, blew into it so she could hear the warning (as I said, "no barking" which was my issue.) My dog barks at every dog when we drive together. Everyday we see many dogs along our route. The first dog she saw, she barked, the collar beeped, she barked, collar beeped, she barked, the collar beeped and then zapped her and I felt so bad because she yelped in pain. I took it off, comforted her. I did put it back on, HOPING she learned her lesson and to my surprise, she did! She hasn't barked at another dog on the street while we are driving again!I would definately recommend and buy this product again. My only hope is that the company can do a better job of providing a .pdf of the User Manual and additional videos (both to YouTube and on their site.)
