An Annotated Sumerian Dictionary

The Sumerian language was the first written language and had no root connection to any other languages. For those serious about this language this dictionary by Mark E. Cohen is a must to own. A well researched book that gives examples of usage. I love it.

This is a useful and scholarly reference. I also have Halloran's "Sumerian Lexicon". I agree with another reviewer that they are not in competition.The next thing I would like to see is a cuneiform character dictionary with Unicode and perhaps even photographic clay tablet / inscription versions. The model would be Nelson's "Japanese-English Character Dictionary".

This dictionary paired with the Bible and other historical writings is monumental to understanding vision.
