Original S.W.A.T. ® Classic Safety Toe 9" Side Zip Boots for Men and Women – Suede Leather – Padded Collar

I've worn these almost daily for about a year. I bought them mainly for their comfort and lightweight, as I have trouble finding shoes/boots that are comfortable for me. These are probably the most comfortable boots I've ever had. I originally bought these to wear for handyman work, which includes a fair amount of outdoor work in all kinds of weather. About six months ago I got a job as a construction superintendent. I'm on my feet most of the day walking through some heavy construction areas. I've put some mileage on these every day in all kinds of weather. So far they've held up great. My only issue is the price more than doubled (I want to have a new pair ready for if/when these wear out). I got my pair last year for $49 and they are now $120. Guess I got a great deal. FYI. Always pull up the zipper BEFORE you tighten the laces. I've never had a problem with the zippers.

First shipment of boots were too small. Returned to seller for replacement boots a half size larger. Received the boots at the end of January 2015 and wore them to work for approximately 3 weeks. After 3 weeks of wear the leather at the creases near the toe cap / eyelets started to tear on both the left and right boots. At the price I paid for these boots, that is totally unacceptable. I am currently working with the seller of the boots (Optics Planet) on a refund. Will update this review when / if the seller issues a refund. I don't think it will be a problem since it was within the 30 day window. I would definitely not recommend purchasing these boots. Pictures of the defective product are attached.

The boots quality is very poor, and the customer service is even worse! The boots tore right behind the reinforced/composite toe 2 weeks after receiving. Because of the nature of my fiancés job he couldn't be without a pair of APPROVED boots and couldn't wear just any shoe to work the next day. So he had to wear them until I purchased another pair and they were received. In the mean time, the zipper ended up breaking as well. The customer service to resolve the issue has STILL not been resolved. I would never purchase anything from this seller again. The pair could have been defective but now, I refuse to get another pair.

This is not my first Original Swat purchase; it will not be my last. I find they fit correctly, look good and wear great; it does not matter if I am working or just wearing them around rhe house. The composite toe gives me a safe feeling, I do not worry about getting my foot crushed. The side zipper makes them easy to slip off and on.

Now don't get me wrong. This brand is awesome. And is comfortable as hell. I have 3 other pairs of them and I would recommend it to anyone.Unfortunately for this pair, the zipper broke on me after one day of use.Once in a blue moon you will get a defective product. But its other pieces maintain my faith in them.I'll still be returning this product for a full refund though.

Great Boots! This will be the third pair that I have bought, in as many years. I wear them nearly every day. I bought them, needing the hard toe for offshore work. Although I am in the office most of the day, I do go out on deck frequently. Also, I wear these on my days off, at home. If you just need a casual boot for light / medium duty work, these are the boots for you. I still wear my first two pairs intermittently at home. Now, for the negative, they are definitely not waterproof (The company does make a waterproof pair). The soft thin leather will not hold up along the creases, when constantly wet, so I wear my waterproof boots when needed.Pros: Super comfortable. Easy on / off with Side Zip. Well made. Break-in time is short. Airport friendly.Cons: Some minor stitching issues on pull on tab at the back and the Velcro tab on the side.

The design of the side zip isn't great. It comes with a sewn-in piece of material behind the zipper ostensibly to keep dirt and dust out, but the material doesn't stretch enough to allow easy access to slip the boots on and off when unzipped. Their advice is to keep the middle three eyelets of lacing loose but those are precisely the ones that keep your boot firmly on your feet. The boots are better after removal of the material, but the zipper should extend further down the boot. 5.11 has a better design but it isn't available yet in safety toe and coyote finish.After wearing these boots for about a month in a relatively clean factory environment, the threading failed and the zipper broke. The seller has refused to replace the defective boot. I highly recommend avoiding this product and vendor!

Great boots! these are my first "quality" name brand work boot. To start off I always inspect everything I buy from Amazon. These boots are well made and great quality compared to other inexpensive "wannabes". They fit as expected and don't leave much room but I added some tactical orthopedic insoles. They definitely add to the already comfortable feel of the boot but with the original insole and the new one it is snug but not uncomfortably so. That's my "two-cents" as of now. I will update after a while.

Great boots! I am considered a wide footed guy and the wide is a bit more than what I like, but still day long comfy!
