ANOTHER POSITIVE STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
I am a true admirer of the author's work and original thinking. (See my 5-Star reviews of "Deep Truth" and "Divine Matrix.") At the same time, I was a bit disappointed with this new book as compared with the previous two. The primary message still rings true... we DO live in a universe of connectivity as more and more individuals are coming to accept, but the delivery and support of this critical message is not as powerfully presented as in his past work. Too much repetition. For those of you who have not read his prior work, this book might serve as a good starting point in conceptualizing the notion of a "Universal Intelligence" which is a natural dimension of reality through which all life-forms are intertwined. Braden is a master at describing this under-appreciated state of existence. Also ... though we are getting closer and I remain optimistic in knowing mankind will eventually "get it" long-term ... there is still a lot of work that remains to be done before humanity reaches the "turning point" we all hope to achieve. A Great "Turn" Away From Just Being Positive to Being Resilient
With all the crises in the world especially new generations with their inclination towards "dsytopia" may find it hard to swallow yet more popular New Thought type thinkers giving them positive thinking antidotes to major world problems. Fortunately, Greg Braden offers a solution that does not throw the baby (positive thinking) out with the bath water. Instead, he embraces positive thinking about the future, but grounds it in reality by teaching us that the capacity to be resilient is one of the most essential criteria for well-being and survival. Without glossing over the problems we may all face in the future (which are illustrated throughout the book), Greg Braden offers hope through a wake up call to get real, real soon. One warning, if you are not in the right mind space this book could depress you. If you are in the right mind space, you are already demonstrating a certain amount of courage to understand that we all can have what it takes to make the world better despite the challenges we face, if we can be resilient and take it. .

Basic
Let me begin by saying I am a fan of Braden's books, and I have enjoyed hearing him speak a few times. It's his perception, his science and his clear style that I appreciate. Yes, we notice the pieces of the puzzle as he does, but he puts them together for us to make the broader picture. And then we feel the magic. But it is this magic that I didn't feel in this book. Almost, but not quite. I'm hoping I'm missing something, because his name brings with it the promise of quality. I will say that I felt it was entirely solid in the analysis of a turning point, and where we are in our world. Four stars. His view was important to me, but did not awaken me to something new and wonderful this time. I am waiting to hear other people's thoughts.

I find that since I read the book I am ...
I find that since I read the book I am identifying incidences in my life as "Turning Points". The book helped me to realize this perspective that has been here all along. Now I have the presence of mind to realize what I am experiencing and see the opportunities from the standpoint of "turning" rather than "tipping". This is making all the difference. After all, the only control we have over what is going on around us is how we choose to respond to it. Thanks Gregg for another stream of valuable insights. I especially appreciated the importance of mourning the loss of those things which are no longer true. I was holding on to way too many "yesterdays" at the expense of missing today.

Gregg Braden Has Already Told Us Most Everything That's in This Book
I am a big fan of Gregg Braden. I've read a good number of his books, have listened to his audio CDs, have watched his DVDs, and I've seen him speak live four times. In listening to him read the audio CD version of this book I kept waiting for him to break new ground, but he told me very little that I hadn't already heard from him. For me the basic summary of what he's telling us in this book is 1) The world is facing multiple major crises, 2) The world is dangerously low on important natural resources, and 3) We all need to come together as a people to live in harmony and solve these major problems. This is all good information, but I've heard it before from him. If you are new to Gregg Braden, or if you haven't read his last book, "Deep Truth", I would recommend getting that book before getting "The Turning Point". I really enjoyed "Deep Truth", and a lot of that information is also discussed in "The Turning Point", too. But there are subjects discussed in "Deep Truth" that had me much more riveted to the book, including Gregg's disclosure that DNA testing has now been done on well-preserved specimens of Neanderthal Man, and there is almost no way that we could have ever evolved from him.

left turn
the tone of this book was a little paternalistic, as if the author was talking down to grade schoolers. also, sounded like the self-help feel-good genre. most of the material was a re-hash under one cover. the rising prices are attributed to energy shortages per hulbert, ignoring that the comex and almost everything is highly manipulated by the oligarchy. the un is cited as a solution when there is an obvious agenda behind the green mask (agenda 21), and there is suppression of dissent and use of fraudulent data to support man-made global warming for economic and political purposes. double goes for the rockefeller foundation. they are not the solution. they are the problem. climate changes, we need to adapt., but until the system changes and the assault on nature and individual freedom is de-railed, resilience is default mode.

A truly amazing book which gives me hope that mankind still has a chance before we reach the point of no return, if only we would change our way of thinking.
