Well to be honest in the zoom mode it is only about twenty percent as bright as a well known brand name predator light that I have and paid $ 139.00 for.I'm sure at 100 yards it would light up a critters eyes, but not as well as my other light. I did compare the two side by side at night.However, I was looking for a red rechargeable head lamp to use while setting up the electronic caller, decoy and loading my gun that would not scare the critters into the next zip code the way a white light would. This light works great for that. And for only $ 15.85 I can live with that.Final thoughts. It would work great for fishing or walking in the woods or field at night. But don't expect to be a spot light.

I wanted a red light with abilities to dim and change focus and run on batteries or wired to USB. This does it ALL!!!It fits my head without any adjustment needed. The elastic in the band is nice and comfortable. Plenty of illumination and I can tilt the light to an angle I need very easily. So glad I got this ... wish I had done so long ago.

I really like this light except that whenever it is adjusted to spot, there is an outer band a flight which is a large ring, this ring distracts your vision. It really disorients you at night unless you are wearing yellow driving glasses. Need to figure out how to eliminate this ring of light. Then this would be five stars.

Great for the grow room. I used daily for hours at a time for months. Dropped on concrete from about shoulder hight at least once a week. Quick charge and holds it. Bright enough to train plants in the dark.

I was surprised about the brightness and battery life, for the price. After charging it fully on the first day, prior to using on a hunt, I turned it on bright and left it on for 2 hours and it never dimmed. It might last much longer than 2 hours, but I grew tired of waiting. A good buy.
