Q: Is it enough san for a 10 gallon tank?

For a 10 gallon tank I would purchase 2 bags I have a small 5 gallon and 1 bag was just enough for adequate bottom coverage. I hope this helps :)

Very fine, kind of like the sand on a beach

Q: Can I use this for a red eared slider turtle aquatic tank?

Is your concern for the turtle or the filter? I think the turtle would be fine. I'm not sure if you have a powerful filter that sucks up all the turtle poo and will also suck up the sand too in which case that could be a problem. My son has 2 red eared sliders and I think he decided against having a substrate because it was so difficult to keep the bottom clean. His was a heavier rock-like substrate instead of sand-like as this stuff is so I'm not sure how the filter handles sand. I am using this in a betta tank with a gentle flow filter that doesn't come near the sand.
