This is worth every penny. The design is great. The feel is quality. The hitch lock works well and is secure and quiet. The capacity rating is better than average. Easy to use design. The powdercoating is good and will likely last years with no signs of rust. Functionality works like any other bow shackle should.

Firat things first: this shackle is badass and exceeded all of my expectations. When I was looking for a shackle, it fell between this one and the lighter duty one. I chose this one because it was only a few dollars more for a 17,000# pull rating, and a 68,000# break rating. Now, I doubt I will ever have to pull that much, but for a few extra dollars, the added level of overkill durability worth it. The box contains everything you need, including extra rubber washers that fit the shackle pin and the trailer hitch pin lock, with extra o-rings so you can adjust the fit, and a cotter pin for the lock. As soon as you pull it out of the box, you can tell it is well made. The portion that slides into your hitch receptacle is a solid piece of steel; it isn't hollow. The shackle itself is solid and well made, and the shackle pin is thick and heavy-duty. The way it is made, it is easy to belive the 17,000# pull rating. Examining all the parts, it seems the weakest link would be the hitch receptacle lock, as it is the smallest diameter of everything included; however, it is unlikely you will be able to create enough shear force on the square 2" hitch receptacle to overcome the metal lock pin before having damaged everything else. The color is excellent and exactly as shown in the description. The paint is thick and smooth, without dried globs, drips, or thin spots. It looks like the paint will hold up very well to the elements and to hard use. I chose the purple, and it's a nice splash of color on my black SUV; I'm going to assume all of the colors look great. When I installed the shaft, you can shake it a little and it makes noise. Now, to be fair, I did not drive it to see if it rattled noticeably; therefore is a chance that the heavy weight of the unit will prevent rattling. However, like a few other reviewers, I simply wrapped some of the shaft with electrical tape to snug it up. The only worry I actually had was the rubber guards on the shackle. They fit nicely, but I was paranoid that they could be lost while driving on or off road, because they are two parts that sandwich the shackle. I already had my electrical tape out for the shaft, so I did a few loops on the center of the shackle around the center of the rubber guards. You can't tell from any distance, so it keeps the badass look while making sure I don't lose anything. Overall, I couldn't be happier. If you're looking for a shackle, this one is an incredible value for the money, and the color choices can give your rig some subtle accents while still being able to perform when needed.

Installed on my golf cart for recoveries and it works great. Very strong, great powder coat. No chipping after many uses.

Product came as described. Packaged well and looks to be sturdy and of good quality. Hitch rattles when placed in the 2" receiver. I had to add some black duct tape around the hitch to keep it from rattling.

Fits nice looks nice. Haven’t been pulled out by it though. Also got my shin on it. So it’s solid!
