Alchemy SHM

I thought I would give this CD SHM a try ,A live CD recorded in 1983 by one of the most talented Musicians Mark K.Guitar God of the band Dire Straits and I was shocked at the sound quality I will have to admit that said ,worst case scenario a live cd from a great band that doesn’t sound that great but remember this was recorded in 1983 so wasn’t expecting to be blown away by the sound but crystal clear, great dynamic range , and so on,But just wanted to mention that my system is top notch so it really impressed me and definitely going to try and get more of the SHM CDS they are a bit pricey but so far I have already purchased another SHM so if the next one is as good as this, then I would highly recommend them, and on another note I have tried the SACD version of other bands but really didn’t notice any difference but I don’t have a special SACD player.

Multi-track analog recording that rivals many current "live" recordings. High-end audo. A must have for Dire Straits fans. The final track, instrumental theme from movie Local Hero, a curious choice. Romeo and Juliet and Once Upon a Time in the West are the best versions, respectively. Much more nuanced and emotional than the studio versions.

No overdubs. No retakes. There were definitely separate microphones for the recording - this clearly isn't taken from the soundboard. The quality is excellent and the musicianship is stunning. Every song is an outstanding rendition. The only one that for me personally isn't very strong is "Once Upon A Time In The West" - just not one of my favorites and a slow way to open the concert. But once you get past that every performance is outstanding. Don't miss these versions of "Two Young Lovers", "Solid Rock" and "Sultans of Swing".

Muy poca preocupación del vendedor por el embalaje. Llega solo en un sobre sin ninguna protección considerando que es un producto delicado. El Cd en si mismo es muy bueno, uno de los mejores discos grabados en vivo. Para los que quieren comprar está edición japonesa SHM, la verdad que no tiene ninguna diferencia audible significativa con otras ediciones.

In great condition. I actually bought this at a record store to give as a gift, but after hearing had to have a copy for myself and was able to find it at a great price on Amazon. Thanks!

Je m'attendais à une qualité de son supérieure. Pour mon premier SHM-CD je ne suis pour le moment pas convaincu de l'apport de ce type de CD. Je verrais avec mon prochain SHM-CD de Christopher Cross si cela rend mieux. Sinon, en revenant, à cet album de Dire Straits que je n'avais pas entendu depuis longtemps, je ne me souvenais plus que dans certains morceaux on entend le bruit de l'ampli de la guitare qui vient gâcher le plaisir d'écoute..

Die SHM-Technik bringt auch hier noch etwas mehr Räumlichkeit und Klarheit als die übrigen Veröffentlichungen.Ich würde aber keine deutliche Kaufempfehlung dafür aussprechen für diejenigen, die die letzte digital remasterteVertigo-Veröffentlichung des Konzertmittschnittes bereits besitzen. Für wen Geld keine Rolle spielt und wessenHifi-Equipment alles audiophil vergrößert abbildet, mag sich das durchaus anders gestalten.
