Excellent black tea, not a breakfast blend.
If you put milk or sugar into your tea, this isn't what you want. This is a tea meant to stand up on its own, so its much less astringent and strong than a typical assam or breakfast tea. It's not quite as subtle as the crazy expensive stuff full of golden tips, so it strikes a good balance between depth of flavor, smoothness, and not being too light.Package came with an acceptable amount of broken balls, just a few, probably enough for 1-2 cups had fallen apart. But these balls are also not too tightly rolled, so they come apart and actually brew well (some pressed teas are just too tight and don't brew properly)I found the 2-3 minute brew time to be appropriate. 2 minutes wasn't enough, but 3 was perfect. I also found 1 ball per 100mL of water to be the sweet spot (my tea pot holds 800mL, so 8 balls)Because this tea is so subtle, it does require a little more of it than others might. So if value for money is critical, look into the assam by perfect tea (also a good tea if you like milk and sugar), but if you want a nice afternoon drink with just enough indulgence that doesn't break the bank, this stuff is solid. I finished the 4oz package in about a month, (pretty typical for me) and have re-ordered the 8oz. This is probably going to become a pantry staple.

Smooth, tastey and great for keeping you alert at the office or long video game sessions
I usually drink a strong Kona coffee brew each morning. Kona coffee has a very mild buttery flavor but the effects of this caffeinated brew lasts less than an hour. Black Dragon Pearl tea has a mild dark chocolate tone and light tea scent but packs a nice boost of alertness that lingers for three or more hours. I'm on prescribed medication to combat fatigue, memory issues and concentration loss that doesn't seem to be working. However, Black Dragon Pearl is seriously doing wonders with perking me up and for hours and elevating my concentration and memory. What a pleasant surprise!Black Dragon Pearls are about as expensive as Kona coffee. The first brew comes off more smoky if you steep it longer than 3 minutes. When this happens, I cut the brew with a little more water to smooth it into a more dark chocolate flavor. It takes a little practice to get that right balance of dark chocolate flavor. I like to use 2 pearls per cup in a Chinese infuser cup and 2-3 washes. I usually settle for just 2 washes because the effects of the tea are long lasting.

A smokey medium bodied tea, entertaining to watch!
This is a good quality tea with a smokey flavor and medium red color. This is not my everyday tea, my regular is the Tie Kuan Oolong, but it is nice for when I'm wanting a more distinct and robust flavor. You only need 3-5 pearls per pot depending on how big your pot is and it up well to 2-3 rounds of steeping. Don't over extract the first round as it can get bitter if you wait too long. It is entertaining if you have a clear pot to watch the pearls unroll into full size leaves, a clear pot also helps you pour when the color has reached your taste preference.

The Perfect Tea.
These Black Dragon Pearls are literally the best tea I have ever tasted in my life. I have been enjoying them ever day for the past week, since the day I received them. First of all they are aesthetically pleasing. Secondly they are so delicious, I honestly didn't know that tea can be that good. It is somewhat sad that most of us at least in America only know most products as they have been processed and cut down to nothing. when this tea opens up in your infuser you can see that they are full leaves, which is absolutely beautiful. I am very happy with this product. If the price seems too high for some, don't be fooled, there are many servings within the bag. I like strong tea so I use 3 balls for 8-12oz of water. Although 2 would be sufficient for up to 12 Oz in my opinion. The only downside is that you will most likely have to mix it around with a spoon to break up the balls because they are very compact, so when I just leave it in the water they do not come apart and infuse well on their own, but I do not mind mixing it. It's not a big deal. I would also like to mention that most tea does not seem to pick me up as much as coffee but this tea goes beyond coffee in that department. It is simply perfect tea.

Really nice black tea
A very good "pearl" style black tea with smooth, non tannic flavor, even with prolonged steeping, and a subtle cocoa scent and after taste . Good for multiple steepings. I can usually get at least 3 large (16 oz) cups of tea from 4-5 of the tea balls. Decent price, give it a try!

Absolutely one of the best black teas ever!
Absolutely one of the best black teas ever! I am an avid tea drinker and has a very picky tongue for the right taste for real teas. I hate any and all flavored teas. Love drinking teas from all around the globe. Drink rare, expensive and gourmet stuff on a regular basis. The flavor profile on this tea is unreal! It's super smooth with strong notes of honey and coco. It is also strong at the same time with zero astringency. Now, if you are an Assam or Ceylon drinker with milk and sugar then I beg you to look elsewhere. This tea is to be enjoyed as is with nothing added or subtracted. You only need about 3 or 4 pearls to make a nice rounded wake me up cuppa of 8-12oz drink. I am instantly hooked to say the least. I also did some research on Tealyra and extremely pleased to say I think they are one of the best tea collectors and distributor around. I will definitely be ordering lot more next time and try some of the other varieties. Thanks a lot for this and others! I am so glad that I found you...
