These are great traps and very effective providing that you use them correctly. I had a small mouse infestation which transpired was being encouraged by an unknown food source, namely sweet and frube yoghurt wrappers (and also a discarded chicken stock-cube . . . I know, don't ask!)that my 7 year old son had nicked and secreted the evidence down the back of 3 sofas. Anyhow, it was clear that the mice had some sort of access under the kitchen units so I set one trap under the sink and one under the drawers. I used some Cadbury's wholenut chocolate as bait and about 9pm we took the first mouse in a good clean kill. The traps are easy to set by simply pressing the lever arm back until it clicks. The traps are very sensitive - I triggered on in a test with a sheet of A4 which was suitably punched by the array of teeth on the arm. I was therefore surprised the following morning to fins that both traps were minus the bait and un-triggered. On reflection, the reason for this was that the bait I placed in the traps was too large and I underestimated the ability of the mice. (They do recommend that peanut butter is used, but we have a severe allergy to peanut in the house, so not an option) You need to ensure that the bait does not protrude above the rim of the bait-dish in the trap, so again having regrouped, we took mouse number two around the same time the following night. That would appear to be the extent of the problem, so I am pleased that we sorted it in 48 hours. This is not one for the tree-huggers, but if you want a fast, effective and humane trap that executes a swift, clean kill, I recommend this one. My final tip would be: Bait the trap first, then set it!!!

We bought a bunch of these to put around our reasonably sized home when we started hearing scratching in the walls, and after trying ultrasonic mouse-botherers which didn't seem to have any effect. We'd tried installing 2x sonar devices but the final straw came when a mouse still chewed through a mains cable (so much for the "EMC deterrent" effect in your cables). As directed, we put these traps in areas where the mice tend to run along, not in the middle of an open space. We lifted one floorboard in the airing cupboard and put 2 in there, and we put 2 in the loft, next to the beams. We baited them with peanut butter, and can safely report that these traps are ** V E R Y ** E F F E C T I V E ** at catching mice. So far our total is 14 (fourteen!), and as the mice we're catching are getting smaller, I'm guessing we're working our way through the family :'( They're very easy to set and bait up, with an easy catch action, but I wouldn't recommend testing them with your fingers, the action is VERY strong. So far the traps seem 100% effective at killing the mice very quickly, so I suppose they're as humane as you can reasonably hope for. My brother has tried various "humane" traps in his house, but ended up getting an old school trap as the "humane" ones just don't seem to work. Peanut butter seems to work an absolute treat, and I wash the traps off with water after "use" so as not to put off new mice by the smell. At the price, these are FANTASTIC value for money, I've already recommended them to my colleagues at work. Only downside is getting rid of the little blighters afterwards, but it's better than digging under the upstairs floorboards and replacing chewed cables.

J'ai posé ce piège, avec un morceau de gras de jambon. 24 heures plus tard, la souris qui occupait ma cave était prise au piège. Donc pleinement satisfait de cet achat !
