Great Cup for Backpacking
I use this for practically all of my meals when out backpacking. This cup is light weight, versatile, and looks nice! I tend to oil it after each trip and it holds up very well. The cup seems to hold liquids well without soaking anything up when oiled properly. It holds temperature pretty well, not amazingly well but long enough to enjoy a slow sip or a full meal. For a bowl, it is a bit small, but I tend to take 2-3 portions from my pot which works just fine.

Nordic goodness
Rich golden chiseled wooden cup for a great cup of Joe! Feels like I’ve got a piece of something old and hand crafted.

Nice wood cup.
Love this cup! I ordered it as a gift for my hubby who loves beautiful wood items and the quality is really nice, heavy too! The only issue we found was the inside of the finger holes were a bit rough but only took a couple seconds of sanding to fix that so all good now. I may just have to order one for myself

Great mug/slight leak
I love this mug. Is seems to bring out the spices in the mead when drinking from it. There is a slight problem as a leak developed on the side. I understand this is made of natural wood and things happen. The mug was never put in the dishwasher and was only rinsed thoroughly.I am going to purchase another because I like it that much.

Very nice design
I like that it's very lightweight and the handle fits my hand very well. It holds only 5 oz which is nice for a small cup of coffee.

Pretty rough as delivered, easily fixed (honestly a great DIY gift)
It was clearly "handmade" by a dude who was in a rush to make as many as possible. The finger holes were sharply drill-pressed, the shape was bulky and unrefined, it was much less crisp than the image implied. And the leather string and carabiner it came with were useful only if you were hoping for something that would break off immediately. But it's all fixable. The wood itself is nice, so out comes a rasp, some 120/220/400 grit sandpaper, a round file, small drill bit, better leather cord, and mineral oil.First, drill a small hole specifically for the lanyard. putting it through one of the finger-holes is dumb and uncomfortable. I just put a small hole right behind the upper finger hole. Countersink it if you can. Then get the 120 grit sandpaper and sand off the finish from everywhere. The interior of the cup didn't require any shaping, so I just sanded the finish off there with 220.Then get the rasp and round files out and start thinning this thing out. the handle area is thick and just begging for being thinner with rounded edges and notches for your hand. Get creative, there's plenty of material to work with. Use 120 grit sandpaper wrapped around the round file (or a dowel, or sharpie, or whatever, you could do this all with just sandpaper and a round stick) to do details and make sure you round over the edges of the finger holes, they were very sharp on mine.Once you have a shape you like (just keep picking it up and setting it down, you'll figure out where it needs to have material taken away, I put a little notch in the bottom behind/below the lower finger hole since that's a comfortable place to brace my ring finger, I also slightly rounded over the very sharp flat bottom's corners from the whole perimeter) sand it with 120 until there are no rasp marks left (as best as you can, sand with the grain) and then 220, and then 400 or 320. You do want it smoother than the 120 or 220 you'd use on furniture. After it's sanded, soak the thing in a LOT of mineral oil. Don't just wipe on coats, pour like two tablespoons into the cup and wipe it until it's soaked with oil with a paper towel. Wait 20 minutes. Do it again. And again. And again. AND AGAIN. If all the oil soaks into the bottom of the cup, add more. And then wipe it dry and let it sit overnight. Once it's done, use it for a couple days, and then see if the moisture from your mouth and drink has raised the grain anywhere on the rim. Sand that back with 320 and coat it with yet more oil.And then you're basically done. It's nicely insulated, It doesn't clank/clatter like a metal cup, it holds a nice amount of liquid for a cup of coffee or tea, and it'll darken/patina with use.Care wise, I don't drink anything with sugar in it (just black coffee and tea) so I just rinse and dry it. If you need to use soap, remember the oil isn't polymerizing in this thing so you will periodically have to touch it up with more oil if it looks dry, but I've been using mine every day for about a month and about 3 cups of tea a day and it's still great. I don't even dry it very often, it just gets tossed back in the backpack. I was worried about splitting/ruining the wood, but it's been fine, no special care at all.Just get a big gallon bottle of food safe mineral oil. It never goes rancid and you can use it on your wooden chopsticks, cutting board, spatulas, lubricate pocket knives, etc.For the lanyard, throw away the leather it comes with and get some proper cord or paracord. I braided some leather cord together for mine.I wouldn't recommend it at all as-is, but if you want something to diy (or give someone a starter gift to DIY themselves) it's a nice chunk of wood with a well-shaped and sized cup. I think I actually enjoy it more having had to modify it than if it came from the factory better-finished.

Purchased as a replacement for one I bought in Finland
My sons and I purchased these as souvenirs in Finland many years ago when we traveled there together. One of my sons has taken up camping and hiking and I thought this would be fun for him to take along with him. He was really thrilled with it and has used it many times since. These are excellent for outdoor use, and make and unique gift.
