very pleased easy to use

I should have bought this CD player a long time ago. My old Technics CD player failed and as I already have a Yamaha amp (AS701) I thought I would get a Yamaha CD player. The build quality is excellent and looks great on the shelf above my amp. Sound quality is superb, I didn't think it could get much better than my old player but I was wrong. It sounds clean and crisp. The complaints about the skipping and clicking sounds are fixed by simply updating the firmware by USB stick, you can download the update from the Yamaha website.

Great build quality

A joy to set up, this is a well-appointed CD player. But, as has been commented upon, it has an irritating, anomalous fault. In that, from time-to-time, it develops an audible sound 'glitch.' The music is unaffected, but is accompanied by a persistent 'click' (For want of better terminology!). I find that stopping the music and switching off and on corrects the problem. But, it is clearly inherent, and should not be! So, be cautioned!

I thought yamaha hi fi products we're good quality until I bought this deck . First slow to load CD . Tray was scraped. Poor remote control it looks cheap buttons very small to read . Found it to be poor quality. Cost £334 . Expected better its going back to amazon.
