I was skeptical not going to lie. But was easier than I thought. Needs minimal soldering and the instillation guide is excellent.

So this kit is a easy fit, the ps5 remote is very well built in comparison to the PS4. It's very compact so a fiddly job. The rise kit main ribbon is delicate, I recommend you fit the main ribbon, screw the board back down, attach battery, and try and boot up the remote... This will show everything is aligned correctly. Attached your L1 L2 cable test fire it back up. Then R1 R2. Test fire the remote. Then finish the complete build. You don't want to keep opening and closing the remote. This should be a simple plug and play kit but the is a finite amount of tolerance on some of the connectors. I'm not new to this sort of work. Replaced countless phone screens and repaired multiple remote controls for ps or Xbox. The kit is good and works well. Done 3 in total, 2 for friends but typically mine was a bitch for some odd unknown reason. Cables all look fine, yet sometimes it just would not boot up the remote. Took me over 20 attempts at opening, removing everything, reinstalling etc to get it closed up and working as it should.

UPD Nov 2024: Almost two years later - the plastic buttons still stay strong after hours of souls-like games. However, the plastic clamps on the plastic base have given up and one of the button is not functional now. Still in doubts should I buy another ExtremeRate kit with 1-2 year lifespan or bite the bullet and buy the PS5 Edge controller. Order was delivered fast, the installation was easy enough, thanks to many YouTube guides. 2 buttons make a huge impact on my game performance in COD or Nioh/Bloodborne. The problem I faced is that in less a month on of the plastic back button snapped (see the picture) and I couldn't use it anymore. Quite unexpected to say at least. Luckily, EXR Gaming sent me the replacement as soon as I made a complaint. I hope the replacement will last longer. Now I understand an option to buy a kit with metal buttons, but as EXR Gaming keeps selling the plastic one, I hope it indicates that normally should be no issue with it.

I bought this as a replacement for my ps4 controller that had a Sony attachment to it so I was grown to the feeling of using paddles while playing shooters! Upon installing it was very tricky but I followed a YouTube tutorial very closely and the ribbon cable just torn when installing! I alerted extreme and they issued a refund that took 10 days to come (I paid next day when purchasing this from Amazon) from china And this time I installed it all correctly! A day goes by and my back buttons stop working? I took the pad apart to see another ripped cable?? I finally had enough of this since the paddles wasn’t doing what I wanted to do in the first place and just took the kit out my controller and now I don’t play on my ps5 at all cause it feels very alien to play without paddles and I suck playing shooters without them! Wish I could get a refund but unfortunately don’t think I will.

I was reluctant to write a review without actually using the controller properly, but I have now been using it for about a week or two and it’s still working perfectly. Installation of the buttons took about 40 mins, with a YouTube video showing how to do it. Buttons haven’t had any issues, there’s no delay and they are easy to map. Would definitely recommend over paying £200+ for an official controller.

I was thinking of buying a Scuff controller for £200+, but why bother now? It took me about 2 hours to install it, it's very fiddly to do and you have to be careful as you could easily break your controller, but it's doable if you follow the instructional video on Youtube. I have the COD controls set to tactical, where O is melee and R3 is crouch / slide / prone. This means I don't accidentally melee by pressing R3 when things get tense (if I accidentally press R3 it just makes me crouch which doesn't mean instant death as I continue firing), but having it set to tactical means you have to take your thumb off the right stick to melee (not good at all as you just end up punching the air). Inserting armour was always a pain as I want to be able to look around while I'm doing it or turn to walk up some stairs to get out of harms way. Now with these two back paddles all of the above is fixed, makes a huge difference to my gameplay. I'd highly recommend for anyone playing FPS multiplayer games to get one of these.

Easy to follow the guide to install and has worked perfect for the month I’ve had it. Only downside is the colour has faded on the new back part of the controller.

Great to use, and doesn't require soldering if you don't want to remap the L3, R3 or touchpad buttons. Took me about an hour to do. Be careful not to snap the clips on the case. I had added a previous 1 star review, but this was due to the interior packaging being open and a few screws were missing. After checking the instructions the missing screws didn't make a difference as i could use the screws from original controller, and their ones were extra. I used it in conjunction with the clicky hair trigger upgrade so maybe the upgrade can take take less than an hour if you don't have any issues.
